A campsite in the heart of the countryside!
Just a stone's throw from the village of Saint Nathalène, La Palombière - one of the most luxurious campsites of the Black Périgord - is located. Completely surrounded by a forest, tourists can enjoy the possibility to spend a holiday in the quiet countryside, in the middle of a generous nature and the green landscapes of the Dordogne.
Settled in a seven acres wooded and hilly area, this campsite puts at the disposal of its guests numerous quality pitches, which can either be shaded or semi-shaded. Designed to accommodate a tent, a caravan or a camper, these pitches are dispatched in an intelligent way, so they are never far from the water point or from the modern, heated and fully equipped sanitary facilities.
Of course, La Palombière also offers high-end accommodations, like fully equipped mobile homes or chalets. Each of these has a covered or semi-covered terrace, and the campsite’s connection to the Wi-Fi network covering the entire campsite, including camping and caravanning pitches, proves a major plus point!
A wellness centre, a water park, high-end facilities for an unforgettable stay
Listed as one of the best campsites in the Dordogne, La Palombière does everything to delight you so as to appeal to tourists. The facilities and services it offers are the evidence and the quality of the cuisine in the campsite's restaurant will not contradict this fact. A good part of the menus is in fact based on local gastronomy, renowned as one of the most succulent cuisines of France!
Besides this restaurant and its adjacent bar, renovated in 2014, and with a beautiful fireplace lit every evening in spring and autumn, La Palombière also boasts a food store and a newspaper kiosk.
As regards leisure facilities, this establishment includes a water park with two large pools heated to 24°C and the Dordogne’s largest indoor swimming pool, which opened in 2016. The complex also has a paddling pool with various water games, a splash pad, three multi-slides and lastly a large water slide. In addition to the traditional sunbathing areas bordering the pools, it is also possible to indulge in idleness and to enjoy the sun on a grassed area, especially created for this purpose.
Among the other facilities, camping La Palombière stands out for its wellness area, providing relaxation and well-being to its guests. With its sauna, its sensory shower, hydro-massaging bathtub and massage room, it is the ideal place to enjoy a moment alone, just for yourself, during your stay.
A campsite 10 minutes from Sarlat
Set in the lush and natural setting of the Sainte Nathalène countryside, a small village in the Dordogne located 6 kilometres from Sarlat la Canéda, the La Palombière campsite enjoys surroundings with a wealth of highly significant tourist attractions.
Sarlat is obviously one of the most beautiful villages of France. Medieval alleys and half-timbered houses attract each year thousands of visitors, as well as its Cathedral and its former Bishop's Palace.
The Dordogne has also many other charming villages similar to Sarlat la Canéda. Among these, we mention La Roque Gageac, on the banks of the Dordogne. This river flows in the middle of a beautiful valley with rolling landscapes today occupied by remarkable castles. The best known are those of Castelnaud la Chapelle and Vitrac, both located at 20 km from the campsite.
Finally, if the Dordogne is famous for its castles, it is also a region that has many prehistoric sites, like the Lascaux Cave, the most famous prehistoric cavity of France. This cave is decorated with paintings dating from 18,000 to 15,000 BC. It is closed to the public with the aim of protecting these treasures. However, it is possible to visit an exact replica of it recently opened in the town of Montignac, less than half an hour by road from the La Palombière campsite.
