By the superb Vela beach, in the town of Baška, on the southern tip of the island of Krk, Baška Beach Camping Resort is located. This establishment, rated 4 star, is a member of the Adriatic by Valamar group. Equipped with comfortable holiday rentals, it is the perfect place for anyone wishing to stay by the sea, as a family or with friends.
A breathtaking view over the superb Vela beach
A genuine cocoon nestling between the Adriatic Sea and the rocky hills of Baška, this 4-star campsite is the perfect place to stay for a holiday in the middle of nowhere! Pitch your tent or park your camper on the “Premium Mare” pitches (ranging from 80 - 100 m2) right in front of the pebble and sandy beach in Vela and observe the incredible panorama on offer to you: the blue-turquoise water extends as far as the eye can see. In the distance, you glimpse the rocky island of Prvić, where time seems to have stood still.
If you are partial to the comfort of a mobile home with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large private terrace, to have your meals in the great outdoors, choose a holiday rental from the “Marena Premium” or “Vela Bay Premium” ranges. Then go and take a dip in the campsite swimming pool. The very young will have fun in the paddling pool. Older ones will go down the water slides, a smile on their lips, whilst their parents enjoy a cool drink, an aperitif or a snack at the “Mezzino”, the pool snack bar.
Within this luxurious establishment, you will also find a grocery, a bakery and a newsagent. And so as not to waste a single minute of your holiday, make the most of the “Velfresco Direkt” service: order online and have your shopping or meals made with local and seasonal ingredients, delivered straight to your accommodation. You should also know that pets are welcome, and that only 300 metres from the campsite is a beach, on which they will be able to leap around to their hearts content.
The perfect campsite for a family holiday in Croatia
Your stay in the Croatian sunshine will be the opportunity for you to become initiated in numerous water sports activities: pedalo, canoeing, sailing or even scuba diving. You will also be able to play a few matches on the beach volleyball court, and build up your muscles in the “Corinthia Baška Sunny Hotel” gym located nearby. Free access to this is included in your booking.
Do you need a sports trip as a family or with friends? Hire a bike and explore the surrounding cycle routes overlooking the sea. You will be surprised to go all over equally as many lunar landscapes as verdant vineyards. Those who simply wish to slow down and relax can hire a sunbed and a parasol, to read peacefully opposite the sea. Feel free to stretch out right on the pontoon, and be lulled by the gentle lapping of the waves.
Your children will be delighted to go to the Maro club, which accommodates small children from aged 3 to 12 every day. On the menu: craft and creative workshops, games, new friendships and fits of the giggles! Not forgetting the encounters with Maro the crab, the Baška Beach Camping Resort mascot, and three times a week the activity team organise the Maro disco, for dancing, singing and having fun with friends.
Succumb to the charms of the island of Krk
The Baška Beach Camping Resort is located in Krk, a large island to the north of the Adriatic Sea, linked to the mainland by a bridge. Nicknamed the “Golden Island”, because of its ideal climate and rich cultural heritage. Its medieval heritage will delight those keen on history, whilst its flora, fauna and magnificent landscapes will delight lovers of the countryside.
A few hundred metres from the campsite, Baška is located. A town steeped in history in which archaeologists have discovered a stele (an ancient monument). This dates back to the year 1100. On it a text in the Glagolitic alphabet is engraved, the oldest form of writing in the Slavic language. This stele is on display in the delightful St Lucia church. Stroll amidst the narrow streets and stone houses, which make old Baška delightful. Then be tempted by a ice cream on the beach or an evening meal in the port.
Visit the town of Krk. Discover its cathedral dating back to the 5th century with its marble altar and Corinthian stone columns, engraved with Christian symbols. Visit the Frankopan castle. A medieval fortress built between the 12th and 15th centuries, offering a magnificent view over the bay. On your way, have a break to bathe in the sea and the sunshine on the beach in Vela Luka, which has been awarded the title of “the most romantic beach in Croatia.”
Your stay will also be the chance to visit the Franciscan monastery and cloister on the island of Košljun, before leaving for a walk in the forest as a family.
