Marina Julia - a luxury campsite in Monfalcone
It is close to the town of Monfalcone, between Trieste and Udine, that the Marina Julia campsite is located. A member of the Club del Sole group, this establishment enjoys an advantageous location, with its direct access to the beach and the Adriatic Sea, but also in the vicinity of the major tourist sites of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
A campsite by the beach opposite the Adriatic Sea
Marina Julia is one of the loveliest campsites of the Province of Gorizia. Located in Monfalcone, a town notably known for housing Italy’s largest shipyard, this establishment is located by the beach and offers its holidaymakers a splendid view across the Adriatic Sea. It occupies wooded grounds with an area approaching around 10 hectares.
The beach, which sinks gently into the sea, enables the very young to have fun in the water in complete safety. There is a lifeguard during the campsite season and there is a small kiosk right by the beach enabling you to obtain refreshments and satisfy hunger pangs.
On the campsite, holidaymakers can choose to put down their bags in the rental accommodation or pitch their tent, and set up their caravan or camper van on plots set aside for this purpose. There are three types of pitches in the grounds, pitches for tents of 60 m², standard pitches of 70 m² and standard pitches of more than 70 m².
Holiday rentals are divided into 14 separate ranges of mobile homes, bungalows and apartments. This accommodation is located by the sea with a direct view over the beach for those occupying it. These bungalows are air-conditioned for even greater comfort.
Activities for children and adults alike
In addition to the straw hut located by the beach, Marina Julia has other shops and facilities in its grounds. The campsite's restaurant enables holidaymakers to enjoy excellent dishes in the restaurant but also to have takeaways. On-site there is a pizzeria, a bar, an information point, as well as a bicycle hire service. Three points connect to a Wi-Fi network for those wishing to access the Internet, the restaurant, the information point as well as the weather forecast area.
Open every day during the months of July and August, in the morning from 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon and in the afternoon from 4 p.m. to 6.30 p.m, the mini-club of the Marina Julia campsite accommodates children aged 4 to 10. Activity leaders are responsible for organising many activities each one more entertaining than the others, to the greatest delight of children but also their parents, who can make the most of this free service to rest and relax!
Although the activities team is responsible for entertaining children, the team offer holidaymakers the chance to have fun, taking part in numerous forms of entertainment, such as sports tournaments during the day but also shows in the evenings. These take place on the campsite’s main arena, starting as a general rule between 9 p.m. and 9.45 p.m., ending around midnight.
An aquatic park with a swimming pool and Olympic diving boards
Several of these activities take place within the various recreational facilities of this luxury campsite in Monfalcone. Although we should mention the multisports facility, the football pitch, the basketball court, the volleyball court, the tennis court, ping-pong tables, the mini-golf course and even the windsurfing and kitesurfing school, the aquatic park is the leading facility of the Marina Julia campsite. This consists of 3 large pools including a swimming pool with Olympic dimensions to enable swimmers to do lengths, as would champion swimmers!
This swimming pool has no less than 10 swimming lanes with a depth varying from 1.85 to 2.65 metres. A second pool takes the form of a diving pool. A diving board has several platforms enabling you to jump from 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 metres. It is worth noting that the very young can make the most of a paddling pool with a maximum depth of 60 cm and multiple fun water games. Lastly, the aquatic park of the Marina Julia campsite also has a wild river which you can descend in an inflatable ring for even greater fun…
Finally, one last advantage of staying on this seaside campsite in Monfalcone, is the geographical location of this town between Udine and Trieste, which enables you to go out and discover the Meccas for tourism of Friuli Venezia Giulia. On the road leading to Trieste and running alongside the sea, it is thus possible to visit the Duino and Miramare castles, the latter having being built by Archduke Ferdindand Maximilian of Habsburg. Gorizia (a town involved in both world wars with a splendid castle), Aquileia (a village containing Roman ruins) and Palmanova (a star-shaped fort town) are amongst the must-see tourist attractions to discover during a stay in the region.
