A 4-star campsite on the heights of Castellane
At the heart of the Verdon Natural Regional Park in the Alpes de Haute Provence, two kilometres from Castellane, with the label “village et cité de caractère” (on account of the town’s heritage and tourism promotion), the Terra Verdon campsite has been established, on a wooded and verdant site of several hectares. Surrounded by mountains, the latter enjoys a sublime setting and it could not be more calming, at an altitude of nearly 1,000 metres!
Of the 296 plots included on the campsite, 85 are reserved to accommodate campers. Having an average area greater than 90 m², these spacious pitches are either shaded or semi-shaded. Each one has an electrical connection point and a mains water point. They can accommodate between 1 and 6 people.
This Gorges du Verdon campsite also offers a multitude of holiday-hire accommodation. From the 2 to 3 bedroom mobile home to the tent allowing holidaymakers to be at one with nature, there is something to suit every taste and budget. Ideal for a glamping stay in the great outdoors, these tents offer far more comfort than may, at first, be apparent. Given the existence of their shower room and semi-covered terrace extending over 15 m², you will most certainly have a delightful stay.

Taking advantage of an exceptional location, two kilometres from Castellane and the Verdon river, and 5 kilometres from the superb Castillon and Chaudanne lakes, this establishment offers holidaymakers the chance to quickly get to the water’s edge. There holidaymakers may swim and do various water leisure activities. There is nothing better than the beaches surrounding the lakes of the Gorges du Verdon to lay out your towel, and make the most of the Provençal sunshine to get a tan! Lovers of swimming can also make the most of the water park, equipped with two pools, including an indoor, heated swimming pool, children’s paddling pool with water games and 4 water slides.
This has various recreational facilities amongst which are inflatable play structures, an area for playing boules, volleyball court, archery range and others.
During the summer season, activities, hikes and sports tournaments take place every week, with a multitude of challenges to accept, either as a family or with friends. Trips are also offered to holidaymakers who wish to discover canyoning, rafting, hydrospeed and other similar sports. Various activities and workshops are, moreover, scheduled at the campsite mini-club to occupy and amuse children, whilst in the evenings shows, themed meals or games nights also regularly organised. In 2023, a new restaurant will open on the Terra Verdon campsite, with a village square and entertainment stage!

The finest canyon in Europe, the Gorges du Verdon meanders between the cliffs and the mountains, emerging here and there across vast artificial lakes. These include the Lac d’Esparron, the Lac de Castillon and the Lac de Sainte Croix (all picturesque lakes forming part of the Gorges du Verdon). To appreciate the contours, what could be better than a descent by canoe or kayak? This is a descent which also enables you to stop for a relaxing break and a swim wherever you wish. The artificial lakes can enable you the chance to practice a multitude of nautical activities, such as windsurfing or water-skiing. Various water sports centres and artificial beaches have been developed around these lakes.
The picturesque town of Castellane, dominated by a rock 184 metres high, located two kilometres from the Terra Verdon campsite, houses a historic heritage which is significant, to say the least, with its fortified tower, church and ramparts. The Castellane fair, which is organised every month, brings together numerous small producers and artisans, whose stalls are packed with regional high-quality products.
