A campsite on a human scale on the Costa Brava...
It is just a stone’s throw from the seaside resort of L’Estartit and the tourist district of Els Griells, in the town of Torroella de Montgrí, that the Les Medes campsite is located. This campsite, on a human scale, extends over grounds of several hectares, being hardly a quarter of an hour on foot from the Playa Canina beach.
A road with low traffic volumes enables you to go there completely safely. The beach, several kilometres long, faces the Bay of the Medes Islands, a protected archipelago comprised of seven uninhabited islands and islets. These are uninhabited owing to the richness and diversity of the archipelago’s flora and fauna, including submarine flora and fauna. As for the coastline facing this magnificent archipelago, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Spain. The beaches are renowned for their natural beauty and there are a multitude of water sports and recreational activities offered in the vicinity.
Delightfully maintained, landscaped and in bloom, the grounds upon which this Costa Brava campsite is located have several ranges of holiday rental accommodation, able to accommodate between 2 and 4 people. There are also, and for the most part, pitches with a surface area which varies between 70 m² to 80 m², equipped with a 6 to 10 amp electrical connection, a mains water point and mains drainage. The majority of them are shaded owing to the presence of blackberry bushes, pine trees and poplar trees scattered across the site.
At the Les Medes campsite, a multitude of services are offered to holidaymakers. Holidaymakers come from the whole of Europe and can take advantage of multilingual staff at reception, to respond to every question or requirement. On-site, there are modern bathroom installations, with a baby area, bathrooms fitted out for persons with reduced mobility, a launderette and a vehicle-washing facility. The entire campsite has Wi-Fi network coverage. It is therefore possible to access the Internet, whatever pitch or holiday rental you are staying in.
This campsite also has a restaurant, and a facility comprising a snack bar – bar – pizzeria – takeaway establishment in one premises. The main shops are hardly two kilometres from the campsite, at the heart of the seaside resort of L’Estartit.
Les Medes also has excellent leisure facilities, such as its aquatic park, made up of an outdoor lagoon pool, as well as an indoor air-conditioned swimming pool. Around the swimming pool, sunloungers and parasols enable you to indulge in idleness in complete peace.
Holidaymakers staying in Les Medes campsite can also make the most of a sauna, a massage area, sunbeds, a playground and sports facilities (for tennis, beach volleyball, basketball and 5-a-side football). In the high season, the campsite comes to life and various activities and entertainment are on offer, as much during the day as in the evening. It is also worth noting that a children’s club opens during the summer.
A multitude of tourist attractions are located around, and in the vicinity of, this L’Estartit campsite. One example is the Natural Park of the Montgrí, the Medes Islands and the Baix Ter, with its natural richness and landscapes, forming one of the most remarkable locations on the Costa Brava. Moreover, although the scenery is idyllic, the seabed is in no way lacking and the bay facing the campsite is heaven for lovers of scuba diving.
In addition, Les Medes has partnered with a diving club, to enable those who wish to do so to treat themselves to an introductory dive during their stay. Alternatively holidaymakers who are already experienced, can directly discover the seabed during a diving boat trip.
