Running alongside nearly 30 kilometres of beach opening onto the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gironde estuary on the other, the commune of Les Mathes La Palmyre is in the heart of 100,000 hectares of a magnificent pine forest. Renowned for its mild climate, it is one of the top tourist attractions on the Atlantic shoreline.
Located 2.5 kilometres from the seaside, Palmyre Loisirs stretches over a 22-hectare site. Wooded, green and delightfully in flower, the latter could not be better maintained. On the campsite there are a total of 651 plots, a large proportion of which are well shaded. Although some of these plots are intended to accommodate campers and their equipment, whether a tent, a caravan or a camper, the majority of pitches are now occupied by comfortable holiday hire accommodation.
Deep in the forest and just a stone's throw from the seaside
Holidaymakers staying at this establishment have the choice between three ranges of mobile homes and two ranges of more out of the ordinary accommodation, namely, furnished tents and the Tithome hire accommodation. Amongst the mobile homes available, those belonging to the Privilège (Privilege) range, are, without doubt, the most luxurious. Depending upon their layout and how they have been fitted out, they can accommodate anything from 4 to 6 people in two or three bedrooms.
This top-of-the-range La Palmyre campsite also has an entire range of services able to meet the needs of its holidaymakers. The latter can thus thus take advantage on-site of a grocery, a fresh bread stall and a stand selling newspapers and magazines, without even having to leave the campsite. Open in July and August, as well as every Saturday and Sunday, during the campsite's opening dates, the bar-restaurant-snack-bar-takeaway makes it possible to satisfy both small and large hungers!
Located deep in the forest but just a stone's throw away from the seaside, the Palmyre Loisirs campsite offers holidaymakers the possibility to reach the coastal beaches quickly. However, if the latter wish to swim, they can also take advantage of a superb aquatic park placed in the middle of the campsite. The latter consists of a covered 300 m² indoor swimming pool and an outdoor section within which there is a Californian beach gently sloping disappearing towards a large pool, a countercurrent river, as well as three large water slides.

The very young can also take advantage of a splash pad, as well as an indoor play paddling pool, two facilities which are highly popular with parents! Although parents can get comfortable on the multitude of sunbeds on the artificial beaches of this 715 m² aquatic complex to relax, they also have the chance to stretch out on the bubble beds, sit down on the hydrotherapy benches or even perch under a waterfall spray.
Amongst other leisure facilities on the La Palmyre campsite, there are tennis courts with a resin surface, table tennis tables, an area for playing boules with several pétanque grounds, a mini-golf course and a multi-sports ground. There is also a children's playground, a bicycle hire service, as well an incredible circus training school. Open in July and August to children of aged 7 minimum, this takes place beneath an actual circus tent! There is a team of activity leaders to enable youngsters to discover the delights of the circus and in particular the the art of trapeze, juggling, balancing and acrobatics and other activities.
Note that the Palmyre campsite also has a children's club and a teenagers club. In high season the latter respectively accommodate youngsters aged 5 to 12 ans and 13 to 17 years.
Lastly, in the evening, all holidaymakers, meet on the holiday village's large beach, thus bringing together children and adults, for a multitude of summer entertainment on the campsite's main stage. Cabaret, concerts, talent shows, magic shows and other activities. There is everything here for all tastes and ages!
