Like a samba rhythm in the Languedoc Roussillon
Boasting direct beach access and nestling in the heart of a lush flowering garden, 5-star campsite Le Brasilia is heaven on earth, in Canet en Roussillon within the Pyrénées Orientales. Staying here? Good luck ever wanting to leave again.…
A Garden of Eden by the sea
A member of the Yelloh! Villagegroup, Le Brasilia is far more than a campsite. This exceptional establishment is only two steps away from the Mediterranean Sea and its beautiful sandy beach, accessible in less than a minute by taking a path through the dunes.
Le Brasilia, radiating with thousands of colours, proposes all the necessary facilities to satisfy tourists. Furthermore, it all starts at reception, where a sophisticated atmosphere offers an early glimpse into the quality of your stay. Next comes the shopping plaza, a faithful replica of a southern French village square, overlooked by a Catalan bell tower, and surrounded by a multitude of shops, from the grocery store to the ice-cream parlour to the restaurant and pizzeria. As befits the South of France, fruit and vegetables are to the fore, their aromas drifting right across the plaza. Around the plaza, there is also a tobacconist and newsagent, souvenir shop, butcher and delicatessen, hairdressing salon, wine cellar among others.
Apart from the leisure facilities, the remainder of this Canet en Roussillon campsite comprises pitches and holiday rentals, nestling in the heart of a wooded pine forest in bloom. Le Brasilia offers holidaymakers a wide range of mobile homes and cottages. These modern, luxury rentals are spread across various districts with evocative names: Okavango, Sud, Créoles, etc. The campsite also offers holiday cottages for hire. These are small lodges with a terrace and garden on marked out plots.
A holiday with the focus upon leisure and well-being
On Le Brasilia, leisure and relaxation are the watchwords. There is an ultra-modern water park, "L'Archipel” (meaning “archipelago”), the design of which appears to be inspired by tropical scenery. With its turquoise and crystal clear water, it invites you to swim, but also to relax, as the sunbathing area is equipped with many sun loungers and other areas with grass to laze in the sun.
Significantly extended in 2015, the Le Brasilia water park now extends to over more than 6,000 m². In total, 6 pools enable holidaymakers to swim and have fun. One is set aside for wellness (with in particular several hydromassage beds) and a further one for aquatic activities (aqua aerobics, aquabike). However, the other three are solely given over to swimming and aqua play! One of these 3 pools takes the form of a children’s paddling pool, with water jets and a mini-water slide. Several water slides, bridges and artificial waterfalls round off the complex, contributing to making ‘L’Archipel’ one of the best campsite aqua parks in France.
To relax, assuming the aqua park’s hydromassage beds do not meet your needs, holidaymakers can also go to the ‘Papillon Spa‘, Le Brasilia’s wellness complex. You can have a massage and sculpting treatments, enjoying body and facial care, and soak up the benefits of a steam room and Jacuzzi! Peaceful and bright, the ‘Papillon Spa‘ is a genuine haven for relaxation and beauty.
There are also many sports facilities. A football pitch, beach volleyball court, multi-sports ground, gym with state-of-the-art cardio-training equipment, an area for playing boules, and much more besides. Parents can work up a sweat while children take part in the activities at the campsite kids club. Finally, in the evening, Le Brasilia offers lots of entertainment. Although this ends relatively early to make way for a quiet night, night owls needn’t miss out! Head for the ‘Brasil Club‘, the campsite’s nightclub!
Trips in the Languedoc Roussillon
Staying on the Le Brasilia campsite, is also the chance to discover an area with thousands of treasures, the Languedoc Roussillon. Located in Canet en Roussillon, a renowned seaside resort of the Pyrénées Orientales, this campsite is only a dozen kilometres away from Perpignan, the capital of Catalan Country. This city boasts a significant historic heritage, moreover with the crowning glory the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, known locally as the ‘Palais des Rois de Majorque‘.
Further south, barely half an hour’s drive away, the magnificent village of Collioure should be discovered without delay. It has welcomed numerous painters over the years, including the celebrated Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse and André Derain, all captivated by the legendary beauty of the setting, also known for the castle, beaches and fortified church guarding the entrance to this cove.
The Étang de Leucate lies further north of the campsite, this is the ideal spot for water sports especially when the strong Tramontane winds blow in this area. Finally, the Pyrenees can be quickly reached, as well as the Pic du Canigou, the highest eastern peak of this mountain range.
