Exceptional grounds by the Lac de Lacanau lake
Nestling under pine trees by the Lac de Lacanau lake, and near one of the most iconic surfing spots on the Atlantic coast, this outdoor establishment is a genuine haven of peace and nature for all lovers of holidays by the water. In an invigorating Landes pines setting, this high-end establishment offers you an entire range of pitches and accommodation, ranging from furnished tents to the ultra comfort mobile homes for 4 to 6 persons.
On this luxury Lacanau campsite, you can choose a pitch of around 80 m2 to 100 m2, with electricity under the pines. Some have a unique view over the lake to be able to better take advantage of the sunlight and sunsets. Others, known as premium pitches have a slow box, a small wooden garden shed with kitchen area and garden furniture for a nature stay, with a touch of comfort.
As for accommodation, everyone has their preferred style! You can choose which one best meets your requirements. Do you love the out-of-the-ordinary? Why not opt for a fully equipped wood and canvas nomad tent, where you can accommodate up to 5 persons in the heart of the forest. In the same spirit the Premium lodge, adjustable and very cosy with a bathroom, provides added wellness during the holiday. In a more traditional style, the cottages are a safe bet. Practical, cosy and well equipped, they are the perfect family solution. Lastly the Tiny House models, for 4 to 6 holidaymakers, are small houses specifically designed to provide you with comfort and wellness. Modern, stylish, with the most spacious having lovely panoramic windows and 2 bathrooms, they provide the perfect living space, so you can be in complete harmony with your holiday setting.
Water sports, countryside and relaxation activities on the menu
On-site, there is a wide choice of activities on offer to you, and first and foremost are those on and by the water. Of course, you can stretch out on one of the beaches which run alongside the lake, and make the most of your afternoons of idleness. However, you’ll also have the chance to go fishing, beginners’ stand-up paddle boarding, have a canoe trip to the wild islands of the lake, or even go to a water sports centre offering sailing, catamaran sailing, kitesurfing, water skiing or pedalos. For swimming, head to the Pointe du Tedey - the best spot. Surfers can go to “Bordeaux’s California”, towards the ocean 7 kilometres from here, to discover the vast beaches and their legendary waves.
For those who prefer to keep both feet on the ground, many other leisure activities are on hand: beach volleyball, yoga, mini golf course, ping-pong, pétanque, palet (disc game similar to lawn bowls) or Mölkky (a Finnish throwing game), perfect for times of conviviality as a family or with friends. You’ll also be able to take advantage of some 200 kilometres of cycle tracks or go walking on one of the numerous hikes in the surrounding area, or within the Êtang de Cousseau nature reserve. After all such exertion, going to the spa is well deserved, where you’ll be offered an entire assortment of treatments to relax. Nearby, there is also a riding centre, gym, and golf course, which will delight enthusiasts of the discipline.
A club also accommodates your children from 5 years and upwards and particularly introduces them to craft or countryside discovery workshops in the great outdoors, times of simplicity and emotion, to which parents may be invited every week. Lastly, a playground accessible at any time is available for them on-site. By the lake, evenings are the chance for you to share an apéritif or evening meal, as a family or with friends at sunset, and go to concerts (rock, electro or jazz), shows and various dance floor nights in a festive atmosphere…
Between the Atlantic Ocean and Arcachon Basin
By staying on the Le Tedey campsite, you’re only 25 minutes from Cap Ferret, a highly sought-after seaside resort, which has been able to preserve its free and wild spirit. Have a look around here. Here, you’ll discover the lovely sandy beaches, villas drenched in a green setting and loads of small oyster huts, where you can enjoy and discover all the secrets of the so-called “Queen of the Basin”, the oyster. From Cap Ferret, the gateway to the Arcachon Basin, you’ll not want to miss a boat trip to go and discover a few gems there, like the Ile aux Oiseaux island (with a variety of sea birds), a small protected natural island, with huts on stilts. A timeless location!
A further absolute must-see gem located on the other side of the basin is the Dune du Pilat - the highest sand dune in Europe! From the top of its 106 metres, you’ll slightly have the impression of being on a Saharan landscape, with a 360-degree view. On one side, you’ll be able to admire the large Landes de Gascogne pine forest, and on the other the Atlantic Ocean, Banc d’Arguin nature reserve close by, and on a clear day, the Cap Ferret headland. A unique experience!
Lastly, very close to the dune, there is of course the lovely resort of Arcachon, also called “the town of Four Seasons”, as it consists of the Winter Town, Spring Town, Summer Town and Autumn Town (its four districts). Discover the magnificent Belle Epoque villas of the Winter Town, go all around the seafront, and in the shops and restaurants of the Summer Town. Also have a bike ride in the lush district home to the Les Abatilles geyser and its spring in the Spring Town, and watch the boats in the marina in the Autumn Town
