A tailored surfing trip
For those who dream of comfort, without sacrificing the surfing spirit, this “boutique” campsite combines the surf culture, the Landes friendliness, and hedonism for a novel stay.
Perfectly wedged between Biarritz and Hossegor, the most legendary of spots, Ondres is the cradle of Joan Duru, the number 1 surfing professional for years. It is a little known surfing spot. Its wild sandy beach extends for miles. You get there either through a forest trail, on foot or by a short bike ride.
A specially laid out chalet area is dedicated to surfing families. The surfing school ensures there are individual and group classes. Moreover there is a unique facility, personalised coaching, ensured by the major champion Gautier Garanx. He takes you to various surfing spots with high-performance equipment. Enthusiasts come from the whole of Europe to take advantage of his lessons!
Stand-up paddle boarding trips, deck yoga in the heart of the forest, massages in the open air and the activity “bubble” by the swimming pool punctuate the day. Not forgetting a bowl of acai (blackish-purple berries) in the Café to perk you up!
Hotel Service
This open-air establishment ensures hotel services in the middle of nowhere. Beds made and cleaning included on request. Soaps, shower gels, shampoos and Ecolabel cleaning products are provided for all.
Guests have a large selection of high-end eco-designed accommodation, scattered harmoniously throughout the forest. Comprised of 1 to 3 bedrooms, 1 to 2 bathrooms, a living area and a kitchen, everyone enjoys a large terrace, which enables you to dine under the stars, and have your breakfast opposite the forest. Not forgetting the hammock or sunlounger for your siesta. A plancha, air conditioning, a TV and fibre optic Wi-Fi, further enhance service on the establishment.
The Premium Area with its own swimming pool, stands apart. There are 40 wooden cottages, with a contemporary design, dotted within the pine forest. For a luxury holiday, without upsetting the local biodiversity. Bookings are possible for a night or for a longer stay. Note that this campsite is open 11 months out of 12, so it is possible to have a holiday throughout the year!
As regards eating facilities, the Le Café and Le Bistro guarantee a quality service, fresh, local and organic produce, a vegan menu...under the leadership of chef Denis Guilloneau. As for shopping, La Boutique puts the spotlight on local producers (with Basque cheese, cooked meats, Vin des Sables - so-called “sand wine” produced in a vineyard on sandy soils between Lit-et-Mixe and Capbreton - and others). Tasting sessions are moreover offered every week.
The Green Attitude - ICI Ecolabel campsite
On the Espace Blue Océan campsite, we cultivate the Green Attitude: timber accommodation, solar panels, a chlorine-free pool, fruit and vegetables from local producers, recycling, use of compost…Even plastic is banned. Committed to favouring the environment and biodiversity, this boutique campsite is developing programmes for the protection of the forest and the oceans together with children (and their parents).
The aromatic garden is open to everyone. Come and pick thyme, rosemary, tomatoes, and various courgettes...children are responsible for watering them, thanks to the rainwater harvesting tank. A little further on, bees are producing home-made honey. Then take your children to see the donkeys, the pony and the goats being fed.
Here the campsite has soft mobility; on foot, by bike, by shuttle or even a caddie car. Once on site, holidaymakers have no need of a car. Avant-gardist for its ecolo policy, Espace Blue Océan has held the EU Ecolabel since 2009. A distinction renewed every year from that time onwards.
