Domaine La Yole - more than a campsite, heaven in Valras Plage
Just a stone’s throw from the seaside resort of Valras Plage, in the Hérault department, the 5-star campsite Domaine La Yole welcomes holidaymakers, looking for a high-end open-air hotel by the sea. With its aquatic park, leisure facilities, quality holiday-hire accommodation and its exceptional services, this establishment combines all of the criteria for successful holidays.
A 5-star campsite by the sea
Domaine La Yole is, above all, the story of a wine-producing estate. The first vines were planted nearly 2,000 years ago when the Gallo-Roman era was in full swing. In 1771, the year Napoleon Bonaparte is baptised, the vines take the name of Domaine de la Yole, and the wine produced on-site is then recognised as such and exported throughout the entire region. In the 1950s, under the leadership of a new visionary owner the vineyard begins a fabulous transformation. In 1969, he decides to transform part of the vineyard into a campsite. The first holidaymakers pitch their tents there from the following year onwards. Since then, the Valras Plage campsite has not stopped going upmarket. The site got its 5th star in 2011. Nowadays, the campsite is part of the Marvilla Parks group.
Located 4 kilometres further south of the Valras Plage seaside resort, Domaine La Yole enjoys a setting which is attractive, to say the least. The vines surround a large part of the site, whilst the beach is 2 minutes on foot from the campsite. The Plage des Mouettes, is the Valras Plage resort’s wildest beach. Lovers of idleness will appreciate its ultra-fine sand, and the view which stretches up to the seaside resort.
This campsite with its Hérault aquatic park stretches over a total area of 23 hectares, which is delightfully landscaped. Countless trees enable a large proportion of some 1,273 available plots to be shaded. Although a third of them are intended to accommodate campers and their tent, caravan or camper, two-thirds of the plots are nowadays occupied by holiday-hire accommodation.
Half a century looking after holidaymakers
To meet the various expectations of its holidaymakers, Domaine La Yole has a diverse and varied selection of holiday rentals, some of which are named after major French grape varieties...These take the form of mobile homes, furnished tents and small single-storey apartments. Amongst the most luxurious accommodation on the campsite, the holiday rentals in the “Merlot Premium” range have air conditioning, a television, Hi-Fi system, free Wi-Fi, barbecue, garden furniture set, carport and terrace!
Furthermore, Domaine La Yole campsite is open for glamping with a tree house, enabling those occupying it to reconnect with nature and gain some perspective! This cabin can accommodate a family of 4 people and has a shower room and separate toilet.
Moreover, this Valras Plage campsite has numerous shops and services. Holidaymakers staying on the campsite can also find a grocery on-site, a bakery/cake shop, an ice-cream seller, two bars and a shop including a newspaper/bookshop area. There is also a souvenir shop, a general store, a hardware store, a summer clothes outlet and other similar shops, as well as a small wine cellar. It is also worth noting that it is possible to visit the wine estate’s main cellar and test out various recipes such as the “Gourmand Discovery” or the “Wine and Cheese” selections during the pre-dinner drinks. The reception, renovated and expanded at the beginning of the 2018 season, henceforth has a waiting area.
Still on the campsite, holidaymakers can also take advantage of several catering areas amongst which there are two particular restaurants; “Le Comptoir des Saveurs” (which translates as “The Specialities Bar”) and “Le Restaurant de la Ferme” (“The Farm Restaurant”) and a snack bar, as well as a delicatessen.
In 2019, the beauty and wellness area has had a makeover and has expanded. In addition to the beauty salon, the hairdressing salon, the massage rooms, a manicure area and a sauna, this is equipped with several types of Jacuzzis for greater relaxation and unwinding. A 100% Zen area entirely set aside for adults!
Facilities and activities for all the family
A high-end campsite, par excellence, Domaine La Yole can also boast offering holidaymakers the chance to make the most of leisure facilities during their stay. These are exceptional to say the least. The campsite’s aquatic park is without doubt the best example of it. With a 1,000 m² pool area including the 284 m² indoor pool and 3,295 m² of artificial beaches and solaria, the swimming and idleness area of this establishment will not leave you impervious to its charms. Throughout the entire season, the various pools are heated for swimmers’ greatest delight. There is a large swimming pool, a lagoon pool, a children’s splashpad and a large indoor swimming pool, as well as nine water slides. Whilst four of them are exclusively reserved for small children, the other five, the highest of which is 9.5 metres above the ground, provider thrill seekers with their dose of adrenaline and fun!
The other sports and leisure facilities of this outdoor Hérault establishment comprise a treetop adventure course, two tennis courts, multi-sports ground, beach volleyball court, outdoor fitness area, boules court and archery range. There is also a game zone for children with a fairground attraction, mini-golf course, mini-karting, ping-pong tables, games room with arcade machines and pool table. You will find a mini-farm with animals, vegetable garden and orchard.
Furthermore, for the young to have fun and keep busy, Domaine La Yole has three mini-clubs. The first club accommodates the needs of those aged 5 to 8, the second those 9 to 12, and the third those aged 13 to 17. Moreover, teens can take advantage of a place to get together, a genuine club and meeting place. These premises also accommodate teens’ activities.
For adults, numerous activities are organised throughout the season and are, in particular, more likely to take place during the summer. There are induction or improvers’ painting classes, and classes in making decorative objects, drawing and colouring mandalas (graphic symbols) and jewellery-making. There are also muscular awakening, Zumba, fitness, fencing, stretch, step and aquaerobics sessions and other activities.
These activities take place in a modern central area, with a playground and indoor area serving as a dance floor but also for sports sessions and other activities.
Lastly, come the evening, everyone meets in the large area in front of the campsite stage to take advantage of themed evenings, shows, concerts and others...organised throughout the summer.
