One campsite, two sites
This campsite lies in the heart of lush vegetation, about 100 metres from Le Barcarès beach, and in the immediate vicinity of the mouth of the Agly river. The Agly, coastal river with a length of 82 km, takes it source in the mountains of the Corbières massif. Then by crossing the fabulous gorges of Galamus, that it helped form, this river finally joins the Mediterranean South of le Barcarès and North of Treilles.
Because of the campsite's border with the mouth of the Agly, a part of the establishment is called "Embouchure" (mouth). It is in this part that we find the pitches for camping, here you can for example put your tent or caravan. Semi-shaded owing to the many trees and shrubs, this section enjoys direct access to the beach, only 100 metres or so from this Le Barcarès campsite!
The other part of the campsite took the name of "Floride", thanks to the presence of the water park and its pools, sprinkled by the sun. Here we find all the establishment's rentals, nestled in the heart of a lush vegetation. Among the many comfortable and well-equipped (there is even a TV in every rental) chalets and mobile homes which occupy the area, is the Farés Maori and the Farés Aloha, forming the Tiki Village, a beautiful Premium area superbly laid out similar to a Polynesian village...
And an atmosphere which has a real holiday feel!
At a stone's throw from the beach, the guests of campsite Le Floride et l'Embouchure can enjoy the many activities and the entertainment organized by the establishment in summer. It features, among others, a multisports ground, a body-building and fitness room, a video games room, a children’s playground and other facilities.
There is also a market here offering fresh and regional food products, as well as fresh bread sold every morning, and sweetbreads and buns such as croissants, brioches and pains au chocolat. It is also possible to order pizzas at the snack, to dine in the restaurant or to enjoy a cocktail in the bar of the campsite.
However, naturally the real heart of this resort is the water park. 3000 m² of pools and sunbathing areas, the perfect place for children and parents to have fun and enjoy the sun of the Languedoc to get a suntan. The aqua park consists of a large indoor pool, heated from April to September, heated Jacuzzi, superb Californian pool, 3-lane racing slide, with each lane stretching 21 metres, and 35-metre-long water slide! The youngest can also take their first swim lesson here or simply play in the water of the paddling pool equipped with multiple water games.
Finally, to get back into shape, you can enjoy the aquagym sessions or go to the well-being area of the campsite. This Wellness Centre offers various beauty treatments!
A stay in Catalonia
Le Floride et L'Embouchure campsite is a perfect holiday resort for anyone wishing to discover the Pyrénées Orientales, and more widely a region known as French Catalonia. The coastline of the French counterpart of this Spanish region is definitely the region's number one asset to attract tourists, especially the coastal strip from Argelès sur Mer to Portbou: the Côte Vermeille.
The Côte Vermeille is the most beautiful coast in the Roussillon. Wild and steep, there are numerous pebble coves and charming small fishermen's ports, but also several beach resorts, of which the most famous is definitely Collioure, city of artists.
With its royal castle and its fortified church at both ends of a beautiful pebble beach, Collioure is certainly one of the most beautiful cities of the Pyrenees Orientales. Located at 40 kilometres from the campsite and le Barcarès, the rich historical, artistic and cultural heritage of this seaside city is worth the visit, as is the coastal road linking the resorts of Port Vendres, Paulilles, Banyuls sur Mer and Saint Cyprien.
The other tourist sights of the Pyrenees Orientales, include the city of Perpignan, capital of French Catalonia, but also the hinterland and the Corbières mountains, where we find the beautiful and wild gorges of Galamus...
