A campsite with a lagoon in the Dordogne

The Le Séquoia campsite, located in Payrac within the Causse de Gramat (a series of limestone plateaux), is genuine heaven for families looking for a relaxing holiday with a change of scenery. Ideally situated between Quercy and the Périgord Noir (Black Périgord) areas, around 40 minutes from Sarlat la Canéda and Rocamadour, this establishment has everything for your delight. All the more so as on-site you’ll be able to find a mini-golf course, multi-sport ground, ping-pong tables and petanque courts. Moreover, you’ll be able to have an exclusive family adventure, climbing to the top of a redwood tree (the iconic tree in the region), using a harness and supervised by a campsite activity leader.

Stretching over a wooded 6 hectare park, this Payrac campsite stands out for the remarkable natural setting and two areas set aside for swimming: the water park and lagoon swimming pool, each offering a unique holidaymaker experience. The first consists of an indoor pool, outdoor swimming pool, water slides and multi-slide, as well as a paddling pool with mini-water slide for toddlers. The second is a natural 2,000 m² lagoon, with a sandy beach running alongside. Small palm trees planted on the beach bring a touch of the exotic to the grounds, whilst offering a panoramic view over the lush, small valleys of the surrounding area.

For those aspiring to a moment of pure tranquillity, Le Séquoia has a dedicated relaxation and wellness complex. Picture yourself diving into the relaxing atmosphere of a refined spa, enveloping you in the gentle babbling of water and delicate aroma of essential oils. The fortifying warm sauna invites you for stress release, whilst the Jacuzzi proves a genuine cocoon of relaxing bubbles to remove tension. The icing on the cake, tailored relaxing massages are on offer, to revitalize your body and mind!

High-end accommodation in the heart of the Lot

This campsite in the Lot department offers various holiday rentals, categorized within the “Confort” (Comfort), “Prestige” or “Luxe” (Luxury) ranges, suited to all tastes and requirements. They can accommodate two to ten people, and have everything necessary for a fantastic stay, including fully equipped kitchens and terraces, to make the most of outdoor life. Holidaymakers looking for an even more out-of-the-ordinary experience can stay in “Lodge Tents”, which combine glamping comfort with the authenticity of life in the great outdoors. These tents and ecolodges can accommodate up to 5 people, and have convivial living areas.

Le Séquoia also offers tent and caravan pitches, with a surface area ranging from 80 to 100 m², enabling traditional camping and caravanning lovers to immerse themselves in the campsite’s lush countryside. Some plots have private sanitary facilities, for even greater comfort.

Have a convivial, culinary experience in the campsite's snack bar – restaurant! You can enjoy traditional, gourmet Périgord dishes here, prepared using fresh, local produce. Whether for a family meal on the terrace, overlooking the swimming pool or quick takeaway snack, the restaurant satisfies all appetites!

The Sunny Club on the Le Séquoia campsite is a friendly area given over to children aged 5 to 12, offering a multitude of play and enrichment activities in the high season. Open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, a lively team runs the club, supervising young holidaymakers for team games, art and craft workshops and sports tournaments. Children have fun, owing to outdoor games and dancing at the famous Mini Disco, where they can let off steam in a festive atmosphere.

Exploring the Dordogne and the Lot

Located in the heart of a protected region, the campsite enables holidaymakers to discover unique geological and prehistoric sites. The surrounding area abounds in wonders such as the Lascaux caves, bearing extraordinary witness to wall art, Gouffre de Padirac series of caves, with the impressive 40 kilometre underground cave network or even the Cougnac caves, with limestone stalactites and mammoth and ibex cave paintings some 30,000 years old…

The region’s historic treasures are equally fascinating. In the immediate vicinity of the campsite, holidaymakers can explore iconic medieval villages such as Rocamadour, with the “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” designation (acknowledging the beauty and cultural heritage), Martel or La Roque Gageac a troglodytic village. These villages evidence centuries of history with their medieval streets, castles and churches which tell fascinating stories of the Middle Ages and local traditions. You can also take your children for canoe trips on the river or horse rides in the heart of the forest. Not forgetting to visit Calviac zoological park.

Gastronomy is a further gem in this region. South-west France is culinary heaven, where locally grown produce reigns supreme; foie gras (duck or goose liver delicacy), black truffles, walnuts with the Noix du Périgord AOP protected designation of origin. There are also strawberries, Cabécou cheese and various goat’s cheeses here. These specialities, the fruits of ancestral know-how, tell the story and evoke the culture of a land which celebrates quality and tradition. Local markets and small farms invite visitors to discover these delights, which have made this region renowned for gastronomy...
