An eco-friendly holiday resort
Certified Green Key since 2011, La Forêt is a holiday park in the Vendée, on the Côte de Lumière coast, having fully incorporated the principles of tourism and sustainable development into its strategy. An eco-friendly small convivial campsite, it occupies grounds adjoining the Pays de Monts national forest. Holidaymakers can go through it in barely 500 metres. They may take a footpath with pines and wild flowers running alongside, to reach the Le Pont d’Yeu beach. This expanse of sand stretches over several kilometres, between the seaside resorts of Saint Jean de Monts and Notre Dame de Monts.

More than just a campsite in Saint Jean de Monts, a living garden in the Vendée
Within this Premium area, above all luxury depends upon species harmony and the integration of the accommodation with nature. A genuine living garden, La Forêt stretches over almost a hectare, where more than around 50 different tree species have been planted. This establishment is peaceful, family-orientated and environmentally friendly. It is monitored 24 hours a day, for increased security and tranquillity. On-site, you can stock up on fresh milk, bread and sweetbreads and buns in the morning. Confectionery, ice creams, cool drinks, vins de pays (regional wines using permitted grape varieties and meeting quality and standards requirements) and a takeaway snack service are also available during the day. If you need them, all required shops are located within a one kilometre radius of the campsite. Moreover, the campsite is 100% traffic-free, making it the very first 100% pedestrianised Green Key-certified campsite in the Vendée! A secure car park accommodates every vehicle, with a rapid EV charging point also an offer.
Moreover, the Resort La Forêt campsite has a swimming area, comprised of a swimming pool and paddling pool. Both pools are heated to 28°C. There is also a Zen nature area, with a jacuzzi and wellness area, where a qualified masseuse will lavish treatments upon you, every week during the high season. There is also a children’s play area, table tennis tables, games room and billiard table on-site. In 2026, a new wellness centre will open. Set in a unique location, it will combine a sauna, steam room and gym.
A perfect starting point to discover the treasures of the Vendée
A stay on the La Forêt campsite in Saint Jean de Monts is a perfect opportunity to discover the Vendée and its multitude of treasures. A cycle track is located at the campsite entrance. Known as “Velodyssée”, it runs along the Vendée coast for its entirety, and is linked to numerous other cycle routes across the area. In total, you can pedal over nearly 1,000 kilometres of tracks within the department entirely safely! To make the most of these, La Forêt has an on-site bicycle hire service!
A seaside resort of leading importance in the Vendée, Saint Jean de Monts accommodates numerous summer events. These include Kids Folies (exhibitions, shows and workshops) and Atlantique Zen (a range of Zen themed activities, conferences, workshops, Zen breaks). The Planet Beach spa and other attractions and festivals (including the La Déferlante arts and music festival) are also here. On its squares, a multitude of water sports activities are on offer: sand yachting, windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing etc. It is also a Mecca for thalassotherapy in the Vendée.
Lastly, during your stay on the Saint Jean de Monts campsite, you can go to the Puy du Fou adventure park. Here you thus discover the shows on the most famous historical theme park in the Vendée. Equally, you could visit the Ile de Noirmoutier peninsula island, the Ile d’Yeu island or even the seaside resorts of Les Sables d’Olonne, La Tranche sur Mer and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. In the south of the department, the Marais Poitevin Natural Regional Park is also a must-see.
