A 4 star campsite perfect for a family holiday
In Charente Maritime, south of Marennes and north-west of Royan, the Les Charmettes campsite stirs something in everyone. It counts indeed as one of the largest and best equipped campsites of the Atlantic Coast. Located on the edge of the village of les Mathes, it is spread over a huge, nice and tidy property where vegetation plays an important role.
This Les Mathes campsite, home to several hundred mobile homes, lies barely four kilometres from the beaches of La Palmyre and is adjacent to the state-owned La Courbe La Tremblade Forest, offering a wealth of walking and cycling routes that criss-cross the forest. The mobile homes are all installed in a star form and hidden from each other by high hedges, to preserve the intimacy of each individual plot.
Installed on spacious pitches, ranging from 120 to 300 m², these mobile homes are all equipped with a terrace and a gas barbecue. Furthermore, the comfort range will vary according to the different equipments and sizes.
A water park, with facilities and activities for all!
In addition to these numerous rentals, Les Charmettes makes many sports and leisure facilities available for its guests. These include a huge Water Park, partly renovated and enlarged in 2015. This complex consists of two heated outdoor pools, a fun water games area, a 'splash zone' for children, two heated outdoor paddling pools, particularly appreciated by the youngest kids, a heated indoor pool, a bubble bath, a water slide and a four-track toboggan.
Around the pools, sunbathing areas allow to relax on sun loungers and enjoy the sun! Finally, you should also be aware that various free activities are on offer to guests,such as swimming lessons, an introduction to body boarding, snorkelling, rescuing or even diving. Last but not least, you can also assist to aquagym lessons.
This campsite in Charente Maritime also features a multi-sports field, tennis courts, a mini-golf, a jeu-de-boules field, an archery range, a jogging course, a playground for children and trampolines.

As for the services and activities, tourists staying on the Les Charmettes campsite will definitely be spoiled. With regard to the eating facilities, we note the presence of a small supermarket where you can find many food products, pastries and fresh bread. This supermarket is also the place to buy newspapers. A restaurant, a fast food restaurant, a pizzeria, a food truck with crêpes (pancakes) and a bar complete the range of eating and drinking facilities on the property.
Moreover, this establishment has no less than three kids clubs, as well as a Bubbles Playroom. This is for children from 12 months to 4 years old and requires the presence of at least one parent, while the other three offer those aged 4 to 14 a wide range of leisure and sports activities, organised by the campsite's activity leaders.
