The loveliest campsite in Portugal...
Lagos, the “jewel in the crown of the Algarve”, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Portugal. In the past a major maritime port, the town is nowadays a seaside resort directly connected to the international airport in Faro, including regularly scheduled and charter flights linking it to the whole of Europe!
The Turiscampo campsite is located 5 kilometres (3 miles) to the east of Lagos and 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Cape Saint Vincent, Europe’s south-westernmost point. This establishment is within the vicinity of the Praia da Luz beach, one of the numerous beaches in Lagos, the coast of which alternates between fine sandy beaches and steep cliffs, which are a sheer drop into the Atlantic Ocean.
The campsite occupies a campsite of around ten or so hectares, an area divided into 219 plots and 137 holiday rentals. The majority of plots are shaded and intended to accommodate tents, caravans and campers. The pitches enjoy an average surface area of 80 m², the largest of such pitches indeed being in excess of 100 m². All are equipped with an electrical connection, with some also taking advantage of a water point and a waste water disposal system.
Just a stone’s throw from the Lagos beaches
In the vicinity of the superb Lagos beaches, the Turiscampo campsite also offers holiday rentals, taking the form of cottages and chalets. Moreover, no less than 3 Premium areas have been laid out across the campsite. These are the Lisboa (“Lisbon”) and the Ipanema and Zavial areas, the latter two being entirely pedestrianised for even greater peace and safety! All three comprise high-end mobile homes with air conditioning, the most luxurious having a Jacuzzi on the terrace. At the heart of the Lisboa area, a relaxation pool with hydromassage benches enables its occupants to cool down throughout the entire day!

An aquatic park and spa are on the menu for your Algarve holiday...
There are other quality facilities on the Turiscampo campsite, such as these 2 aquatic parks. Outdoors, the first consists of a large 1.6 metres deep swimming pool, a children’s paddling pool and a relaxation pool with hydromassage benches. Around the 3 swimming pools, a giant solarium with a multitude of sunbeds and parasols enables swimmers to lie down for a rest between pool dives. The second aquatic park which was recently opened can, as needed, be completely indoors. It houses both a large swimming pool and a splash pad for the very young.
Turiscampo also has outdoor fitness equipment, a weights and fitness room, a pétanque court, a multi sports ground, an outdoor play area and inflatable structures.
Furthermore, various activities and entertainment are on offer to holidaymakers throughout the entire year: aquaerobics, gym and fitness sessions, sports tournaments and archery. There are also themed evenings, dancing evenings and other activities.
Children and teenagers are not forgotten there being an entire menu of activities, specially adapted to their age and needs, on offer in one of the 3 campsite mini-clubs. The Club Kids accommodates those aged 5 to 7, the Club Juniors those aged 8 to 12, whilst the Club Teens is open to those who are aged 13 to 17…
