RCN Le Moulin de la Pique - for family holidays in the Dordogne
At the heart of the Périgord Noir, within the Pays de Belves commune around 15 kilometres from Castelnaud la Chapelle, we find the 5 star campsite Le Moulin de la Pique. This top-of-the range campsite of the RCN group has exceptional facilities, nestling at the heart of a verdant campsite by a lovely manor…
A campsite in the land of châteaux and walled towns...
The Dordogne is one of the French regions with the largest density of châteaux. Although many people visit it, thus enabling tourists to discover the history of the Périgord region, others are entirely converted and from then on welcome new activities. This is the case with Le Moulin de la Pique, located in the Pays de Belves, the property of which was converted into one of the loveliest campsites in the Dordogne.
Owned by the RCN group, this top-of-the range campsite of the Périgord region is rated 5 star. The campsite, which extends over more than ten or so hectares, is crossed by a stream, La Nauze, which feeds a superb lake of 5,500 m². The latter is a small piece of heaven for fishermen!
Wooded and verdant, maintained with care by an entire team of gardeners, the park houses a manor, as well as several other beautiful buildings made from freestone. Holidaymakers can therefore stay within genuine fairy tale scenery. International campsite par excellence, we speak a multitude of languages and the team at Le Moulin de la Pique pride themselves on meeting the needs and wants of their guests.
Considered as one of the best family campsites in Europe and winner of multiple awards from numerous European organizations, this establishment is a holiday resort of choice in the Dordogne.
One of the best family campsites in Europe
The campsite’s offering is the height of expectations for a 5-star campsite. Although you find many spacious pitches planted with grass, intended to accommodate campers and their tent, their caravan or camper van, Le Moulin de la Pique also has a large choice of holiday rentals. Modern and well-equipped, these holiday rentals take the form of mobile homes, Coco Sweet tents, the Safari Lodge on piles, and even brick accommodation fitted out in houses renovated in the style typical of the Périgord region.
On site, there are a multitude of shops and services open throughout the season, enabling us to meet holidaymakers’ expectations. This is, for example the case with the mini-market, the automatic launderette, the library, the fridge hire service or even, and naturally, the bathroom installations adapted to persons with reduced mobility, and which are scattered over the campsite.
So as to cool down and have something to eat, this open-air 5 star Dordogne hotel has a restaurant and a snack bar, with a heated terrace. The latter are found at the foot of the manor and close to the aquatic park. This, justifiably, is one of the leading campsite amenities and, without doubt, the most enjoyed facility by campers.
It must be said that this swimming area has serious appeal! It consists of no less than 4 large pools one of which is specially adapted to young children who can discover the joys of water in complete safely. In this aquatic park, there are also 2 large water slides as well as a 4 lane multi slide…
A comprehensive offer of activities for children and adults alike...
Besides the area set aside for swimming and water games, Le Moulin de la Pique also has several other recreational and/or sports facilities, such as a multi sports facility, a tennis court, a mini golf course, a pétanque ground, a volleyball court, ping pong tables, an open air fitness area and a children’s play area.
In addition, apart from these recreational facilities, a multitude of activities are on offer for children, whatever their age. Amongst the most out-of-the-ordinary, the palaeontology activity enables the very young to look for fossils in a field specially equipped for this purpose. When they discover one such fossil, children can keep it together with an information sheet!
The campsite mini club and its activity leaders also offer to children many other activities, such as DIY crafts, and workshops for cabin construction, make-up, dancing and other activities.
Lastly, around Le Moulin de la Pique, holidaymakers can go down the Dordogne river in a canoe or of course visit the numerous villages and châteaux full of charm which are scattered around the surrounding area, such as Belvès, Domme, La Roque Gageac, Monpazier, Castelnaud la Chapelle, Limeuil and others.
