La Nouvelle Croze, a 4 star campsite between Sarlat and Périgueux
You should note that there is no entertainment on offer for holidaymakers on the La Nouvelle Croze campsite. This establishment on a human scale, which has been open for nearly 30 years in Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac, now offers excellent holiday conditions in preserved countryside less than 10 kilometres from the Lascaux caves…
A family campsite just a stone’s throw from the famous Lascaux site
This small campsite each year accommodates, in the warmest way in the world, holidaymakers seeking peace and tranquillity at the heart of the Black Périgord. Situated in Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac, in the middle of a triangle formed by the centres of Périgueux, Bergerac and Brive-la-Gaillarde, it moreover enjoys one of the most idyllic situations as you find around it a multitude of significant tourist sites. Examples include the Lascaux caves, the Rouffignac cave, the Château de l’Herm castle, and even the Forteresse de Miremont fortress.
Now managed by the same family for three generations, this 4-star campsite in the Vézère Valley stretches over a surface area of 9 hectares, only two of which have been landscaped, the remainder being covered in woods and meadows. It has 41 spacious pitches, 28 of which are occupied by ultra-modern holiday rentals.
The surface area of the remaining plots varies between 100 m² to 150 m². They can accommodate tents, caravans and campers. All are equipped with a 16-amp electrical connection and are shaded or semi-shaded. To maintain each one’s privacy, all of these plots are separated by hedgerows.
A campsite which is becoming increasingly upmarket to always meet holidaymaker needs
Alert to the weather and the views of its customers, La Nouvelle Croze is becoming increasingly upmarket year after year, this being particularly obvious through its holiday rental offering. Nowadays, it consists of modern mobile homes, which are spacious and very well equipped, such as the Premium cottages, with a surface area of 40 m². They are equipped with 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a summer kitchen opening onto the outdoors, a vast covered terrace and a garden furniture set.
The facilities also contribute to this Périgord campsite becoming increasingly upmarket. Although the grocery also has a range of local organic products and an outlet selling fresh bread and sweet breads and buns such as brioches, croissants and pains au chocolat, holidaymakers can also make the most, on-site, of a bar and a restaurant whose menu contains delicious Périgord specialities, dishes partly developed from local produce. The restaurant is open every day in July and in August, guaranteeing service at midday and in the evening. A laundry is also available to holidaymakers.
The water complex on the La Nouvelle Croze campsite has 3 pools in total - a large outdoor heated swimming pool, a second outdoor children’s pool and an indoor heated swimming pool. Although the first two are open for swimming from mid-June to mid-September, the indoor swimming pool enjoys an extended opening period going from April through to October.
A water park with an indoor, heated swimming pool throughout the entire season
The indoor, heated swimming pool is the perfect place for rest and relaxation thanks to a water temperature of 28°C, its hydromassage benches and massage jets. For even more relaxation during their stay on this Rouffignac campsite, holidaymakers can go to the wellness area. This consists of a Nordic sauna and treatment and massage cubicles.
Amongst the other facilities of this establishment, note the presence of a children’s playground, a television room, a games room with billiards and table football, an area for playing boules, a volleyball and badminton court, as well as ping-pong tables. You should note that there is no entertainment on offer for holidaymakers on the La Nouvelle Croze campsite. The absence of activities and lively evenings is a deliberate choice on the management’s part. Above all, it wants its residents to be able to make the most of the peace and tranquillity of the site.
La Nouvelle Croze enjoys an exceptional geographical location, and its holidaymakers are hence close to the many tourist attractions of the Vézère Valley. From the prehistoric sites to the walled towns and castles of the Middle Ages, the Dordogne is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful departments in France. Its history, as well as its culture and gastronomy, make it a leading tourist destination in France.
