Major works have started to restore the premises, bringing back all of its well-deserved splendour. Yes the Camping MS Le Pyla campsite, a modern and well-equipped 4 star establishment, is really at the foot of the Dune du Pilat sand dune (also known as the Dune du Pyla). In the heart of the Arcachon Basin and La Teste de Buch forest, this campsite with all modern conveniences occupies 18-hectare grounds. Here holidaymakers can find, amongst other attractions, comfortable holiday rentals, spacious pitches and a swimming pool with paddling pool. There are also modern and varied services and facilities.
An amazing location, below the Dune du Pilat
Overlooked by the famous Dune du Pilat sand dune, being 103 metres high, the Camping MS Le Pyla campsite occupies the most amazing location! The dune’s sand drifts over the campsite’s edges, so holidaymakers staying on this establishment simply have to look up from their pitch or holiday rental to admire it! Discover the direct access to the Plage Robinson beach (in La Teste de Buch), without having to climb the Dune du Pilat.
The Camping MS Le Pyla is now one of the region’s most modern campsites. The offering includes spacious pitches for tents, caravans, campers and converted vans, lodges with a stylish design and high-end cottages.
Depending on their size and layout, these rentals can accommodate four to eight persons. Many include air conditioning and all have a terrace with garden furniture set, so their occupants can take advantage of the benefits of outdoor life. At the same time, they make the most of the comforts of modern accommodation, meeting today’s needs. It is worth noting that new accommodation will be on offer in 2025, in conjunction with a replanting campaign on-site.
A campsite with a swimming pool in La Teste de Buch
This La Teste de Buch establishment has quality services and facilities, appealing to holidaymakers. In the centre of the site a swimming area, comprised of a large 190 m² swimming pool and 90 m² paddling pool, takes pride of place. The maximum depth of the main pool is 1.4 metres. The children’s pool has a maximum depth of 60 centimetres. Around the swimming pool, the sunbathing area accommodates numerous sunloungers, enabling lovers of idleness to sunbathe after swimming.
Opposite the swimming pool, a timber-clad building with refined lines is home to the campsite’s bar and restaurant. Whether in the restaurant, on the restaurant terrace by the water or on the roof terrace, come and enjoy a cold drink or ice cream in the afternoon, a glass of vin de pays (regional wine) during pre-dinner drinks or even an evening cocktail. Convivial and festive activities and entertainment also take place during summer here: apéritif games, mini-discos, karaoke, blind tests, concerts, etc.
Amongst the other services offered on this Dune du Pilat campsite, there is a bread and sweetbreads and buns outlet, launderette (new for 2025), grocery (new for 2025), and an MS and souvenir shop (also new for 2025). You can also borrow a variety of equipment at the campsite reception (pétanque boules, ping-pong bats, board games, etc.) and hire bikes. The leisure and sports facilities on the campsite consist of children’s games (a new playground and play area for the under 3s from 2025) and bouncy castle (new for 2025). There is a multi-sport ground (new for 2025), gym and street workout (new for 2025), area for playing boules and ping-pong tables. For an extra charge, holidaymakers wishing to can also enjoy swimming lessons provided in this establishment’s swimming pool! Open from 7th July to 29th August, the campsite kids club offers children aged 4 to 13 the chance to have fun, with a multitude of play and sports activities.
The perfect location to discover the Arcachon Basin with its treasures
The Camping MS Le Pyla enjoys a truly idyllic location. At the foot of the Dune du Pilat, holidaymakers can go to the beach on the other side of the dune, to swim opposite the Banc d’Arguin nature reserve and sandbank. 250 metres from the campsite, adventurers can take to the skies, treating themselves to their first paragliding session, plenty to admire the dune and Banc d’Arguin from the air! From this beach, you can also take the sea shuttle, enabling you to visit the Banc d'Arguin nature reserve and Cap Ferret seaside resort.
Not far from here, the Arcachon Basin and countless treasures are on offer to the intrigued. Amidst this inland sea, the Ile aux Oiseaux island with the famous cabins on stilts, is perfect for watching migratory birds which stop here in vast numbers. The town of Arcachon, known for its 19th century villas, beaches and lively covered market, is a charming and picturesque seaside resort to discover, when staying on the Pyla Camping campsite.
Opposite Arcachon, the Cap Ferret peninsula leaves nobody unmoved, with oyster-farming villages, wild beaches and an impressive red and white lighthouse, which you can visit throughout the entire season. Lastly, the Arcachon Basin is heaven for gourmets, with fresh oysters to enjoy directly from the oyster farmers or in the region’s numerous restaurants...
