Located on the shores of the Lac de Biscarrosse lake (Etang de Cazaux et Sanguinet), Maguide is one of the loveliest campsites in south-west France. A member of the top-of-the-range Sandaya group, this establishment rated 5 star entices you for a stay in paradise! By the water, discover the comfortable accommodation, sandy beach, water park and wellness area, restaurant and the numerous services…
A campsite with direct access to the Lac de Biscarrosse
Within exceptional natural surroundings, on the shores of the Lac de Biscarrosse lake, in the north of the Landes department, the Maguide campsite accommodates you. By the water and covered with pines, within this exceptional backdrop you can choose the accommodation option best meeting your expectations. From the traditional pitch laid out to accommodate tents, caravans, campers and converted vans to the Premium cottage with a direct view across the lake, you’re spoilt for choice!
The Maguide holiday rentals are split into four districts, each with their own unique identity. The “Cabane” district is peaceful and far from the hustle and bustle in the heart of the campsite, that of “La Plage” is by the water, and “Marina” directly overlooks the campsite’s private marina, where you can moor your boat (around forty berths are available in total). Finally, there is the “L'île” district which, as its name suggests, is in the heart of the campsite and its main facilities and services.
Besides the marina, the Maguide campsite also has its own private beach overlooking the Lac de Biscarrosse. You can swim and relax on the sand here, for a siesta or read a magazine or good book! It also has a superb indoor balneotherapy area, whose architecture is mainly constructed from timber and the large panoramic windows enable you to admire the view over the Lac de Biscarrosse. This heated balneotherapy area comprises a heated pool, massage jets and Jacuzzi. Lastly, the Atlantic Ocean and its vast beaches are only four kilometres from here.
A private marina in the heart of the campsite!
The Maguide marina is located within the campsite grounds. You can thus moor your boat outside your cottage (upon paying a supplement) if you wish! The marina also has a slipway, should you transport your boat on a trailer. Amongst the other services on offer on this establishment, note the large well-stocked grocery and bakery service. The restaurant on the Maguide campsite accommodates you for lunch and evening meals on the terrace overlooking the lake, if you don’t fancy cooking, and also offers a takeaway service.
Like all Sandaya campsites, Maguide has three children’s and teens’ clubs open throughout the entire season, enabling young holidaymakers to take part in many play and sports activities during their stay. Moreover the campsite has a multi-sports ground, volleyball court and various activities take place here, on offer for all ages.
In addition, the Maguide campsite offers you the chance to hire bikes to go off to explore the magnificent Landes Forest. Set off for a bike ride in the shade of pine trees, on the shores of Lac de Biscarrosse, heading for the delightful seaside resorts on the Côte d’Argent (the coast from Biscarrosse to Biarritz).
Discover the Landes and Gironde from Biscarrosse
The Landes department is a dynamic, sun-drenched destination in south-west France. Amongst the ocean, pine forests, sand dunes and freshwater lakes, you’ll be able, during your stay on the Maguide campsite, to explore the entire countryside and take part in a multitude of activities, from idleness on the beach to surfing, hiking, fishing and cycling, to spa-based water cures.
The seaside resorts of Mimizan, Biscarrosse, Seignosse and Hossegor will delight you with their relaxed atmosphere. Thirty kilometres from the campsite, the town of Arcachon is sought-after for its dolce vita, beaches and delightful oyster-farming villages. A boat trip in the Arcachon Basin is a must-see and enables you to discover the famous “Ile aux Oiseaux” (acknowledging the birdlife present here).
The Dune du Pilat dune offers an exceptional view over the Arcachon Basin and the Côte d’Argent! In the right weather conditions, you can even admire the Pays Basque (Basque Country) and foothills of the Pyrenees from here! Continue as far as the Cap Ferret headland, climb to the top of the lighthouse to admire the view and rustle up an apéritif made from oysters and white wine, in one of the delightful oyster-farming villages, running alongside the basin. You can also take the children to the La Teste de Buch zoo, visit the Musée de l’Hydraviation (seaplane museum) in Biscarrosse and stroll round the Médoc vineyards.
