Mayotte Vacances, a luxury destination on the Landes coast
Don't be mistaken, if, from some point of view, you see similarities between the campsite Mayotte Vacances and a heavenly island with the same name in the Indian Ocean, it is really located in Biscarrosse, in the Landes. If the environment is enchanting, what about the services, the equipments and other welcoming facilities?
Whilst the pitches with a large surface area, which are both shady and spaced out from each other, can accommodate any tent, caravan or camper on Mayotte Vacances, this establishment also offers a wide range of rentals, ranging from the simple Safari tent or Cocoony (for an unusual holiday) to luxury lodges, including cottages with a private balneotherapy area on the terrace.
Besides the traditional shops (restaurant, bar, supermarket, etc.), it is also possible to find a hairdressing salon and every week during the high season, Mayotte Vacances hosts a market with local producers to the delight of its guests.
Other facilities of this campsite include a nightclub, a city stadium, a gym and a wellness area "Le Spa des Iles"...
Where to swim? Besides swimming, it is possible to practice many water sports on the lake (windsurfing, ride a banana boat, the camping has also its own private Marina port!, etc.) or even to organize a beach volleyball competition on the sandy beach.
Finally, the third swimming area is a water park of 1 200 m², including a covered and heated swimming pool, three pools, a paddling pool with water games and mini water slides for the youngest, three slides and a tube-shaped toboggan. And let's not forget to mention the balneotherapy area, with an upstream river and benches under waterfalls and geysers, all of this participates in the decoration of this simply breathtaking water park.
Biscarrosse, a perfect destination of the Aquitaine coast
Located in Biscarosse, the Mayotte Vacances campsite has a private jetty and its own private beach so, even if it's not by the sea, you can still swim in a lake that is loaded with history... The Lake of Biscarosse is in fact known to have been the basis of the Latécoère seaplanes, whose pilots, like Jean Mermoz and Antoine Saint - Exupéry, have written the most beautiful pages of the French Aéropostale.
Today, even if there are no more seaplanes on the horizon (except in the museum dedicated to them in Biscarosse!), the lake hosts many nautical activities, making it one of the most popular sights of the Aquitaine coast.
From the campsite Mayotte Vacances it is half an hour's drive to another major attraction of this coastline. The Dune of Pyla dominates the Bassin d'Arcachon since ages, with its 100 metres height, but also the forest and the beaches of the Landes coast, with a special mention for the seaside resort of Biscarosse...
