The quintessential Basque Country
The Berrua campsite alone is the quintessential Basque Country. Tourists camping here will notice it right away: everything indeed reminds you of the region in which this campsite is rooted! Limed walls show red painted beams and tiled roofs, each of the buildings of the campsite respects the local architecture!
Facing the sea, Berrua remains a green, in bloom, wooded area, maybe in the image of...the Basque Country. There are 222 holiday rentals here. This establishment being a genuine campsite with all modern conveniences open year-round, it does not offer camping and caravanning pitches.
There are modern and luxurious mobile homes, Basque cottages and timber chalets. All are comfortable, well equipped and have a terrace. Depending on their size and layout, they have two to six bedrooms and can accommodate 4 to 12 people.
Between the sea…
Like the Basque Country, a region renowned for passion and appeal, the Berrua campsite is no exception to the rule and offers holidaymakers the chance to make the most of the multitude of leisure facilities and equipment. There is a pelota court to play the famous Basque Pelota (a court ball sport), multi-sport ground where many sports tournaments are organized each season, an area for playing boules and superb water park.
Consisting of 450 m² of pools, this water park brings together a heated outdoor pool, large paddling pool with water games, water slide with turns and a four-lane multi-slide, several Jacuzzis, and hydrotherapy massage jet system. In addition, and before going to “La Txalupa” bar terrace overlooking the pools, you can relax by going to the hammam on the campsite.
Moreover, for lovers of sand and salt water, there's a shuttle running 50 metres from the establishment, that enables you to go to the beach and town centre in Bidart. Lastly, it is worth knowing that the Berrua campsite has an activity team, with contagious good humour! It looks after young holidaymakers in the kids and teens cubs, organizes sports activities such as aqua aerobics classes or pétanque tournaments and takes part in evening activities: hypnosis, acoustic live concerts, the display of Force Basque strength and endurance games, bingo evenings, children’s club cabaret, etc.

The hinterland also boasts numerous treasures, such as the Col de la Rhune, the highest peak in the Pyrenees. It dominates the entire Basque coast from a height of 905 metres. A small tourist train enables access to the top to admire the panorama and the view.
