A 4 star campsite in Bidart
Located in Bidart, the Oyam campsite enjoys the most delightful surroundings. The town centre of this seaside resort, with a human dimension, is accessible on foot in only a few minutes, whilst the closest beach is hardly 1.2 kilometres away. A shuttle bus operated by the municipality enables you to get there quickly. The large city of Biarritz is less than a quarter of an hour by road, whilst the French-Spanish border is itself 25 kilometres from Bidart.
Delightfully wooded and superbly maintained, this campsite has various accommodation solutions available to its holidaymakers. For example, there are three types of pitches, depending upon whether holidaymakers wish to stay in a tent, a caravan or a camper van. Holiday rentals take the form of mobile homes, chalets, lodges, Bengalis (canvas bungalows) and apartments.
The campsite also has two entirely Premium districts, with high-end facilities. The first of these, completely pedestrianised and landscaped, brings together mobile homes with a certain attractiveness, perfectly laid out with facilities in abundance. These holiday rentals even have a television enabling access to the channel packages Canal + and BeIn Sport…Plenty to spend a luxury holiday in the Pyrénées Atlantiques! A further traffic-free high-end district consists of mobile homes. These are the Andia with 2 bedrooms, Jara with 3 bedrooms and Lokiz with 4 bedrooms, all in addition being equipped with a private spa and plancha on the terrace.
A Premium area and top-of-the-range facilities...
To meet everyone’s needs and expectations, this Pays Basque (Basque Country) campsite has a wide range of services. The Oyam café, for example, is a restaurant offering a wide variety of dishes to eat on site or to take away. It also serves as a snack bar, at any time of the day, and also offers full-board and half-board formulas.
Amongst the campsite’s other services, we can mention the launderette, the hire of sheets, baby kits, an iron and a hairdryer, Wi-Fi coverage across the entire park and other facilities. Please also note that the Camping Oyam campsite has a relaxation area, entirely set aside for adults. Here you can enjoy a Balinese or Swedish massage or a relaxing, soothing or reinvigorating massage, dependent upon each individual’s needs!
The aquatic area of the Camping Oyam campsite is, without doubt, one of its greatest advantages. With a surface area of more than 2,500 m², it is one the largest parks of its kind in the Pays Basque. Open throughout the entire campsite season, this is fully heated, consisting of a giant pool. This takes the form of a tropical lagoon, children’s splash pad with water jets, a water play facility, etc. as well as a large water slide.
Dream holidays on the Basque coast...
During summer, the activity team on the campsite organise aquaerobics sessions and water polo tournaments. The lifeguard offers you swimming lessons. Lastly, the summer season favours the aquatic park being open at night-time, which never fails to attract both adults and children who are fond of midnight swims.
So that children can have fun, the campsite has an impressive playground with a tower 7 metres high, water slides, a rope ladder, gymnastic apparatus. Close to this playground, there is a multi sports ground open to all, and upon which the Oyam team arranges sports tournaments and activities throughout the season, such as the famous tug of war!
Every morning during summer, a mini club welcomes young holidaymakers. Split into two groups (aged 4 to 8 and 9 to 12), children are invited to take part in a multitude of games and activities. Teenagers are in no way left out, as a club offers to those aged 13 to 17 a multitude of events and entertainments.
Although this top-of-the-range campsite in Bidart is a holiday resort which could not be more delightful for relaxing and having fun, its geographical location also makes it the perfect starting point to discover the Pays Basque. Although Biarritz is the place to be seen, the region has no shortage of other significant sites with great tourist attractions, starting with the seaside resort of Saint Jean de Luz, hardly 5 kilometres from the campsite, or indeed the Rhune pass, the summit of which can be accessed on a little tourist train. Inland, the curious are invited to pace up and down the colourful alleyways of the village of Espelette, to go hiking in the Gorges de Kakuetta gorges, to discover the Citadelle (Citadel) of Saint Jean Pied de Port and many other activities.
