On the Côte du Goëlo coast, the bay in Paimpol condenses the variety of Breton landscapes. Walk through the marina and streets in the historic centre, with a wealth of antique and second-hand goods dealers and art galleries. See the magnificent granite shipowners’ residences and the Abbaye de Beauport abbey facade, before sitting down on the terrace to enjoy delicious Paimpol oysters.
From the harbour, you can take a boat heading for the sublime Ile de Bréhat, dubbed the Island of Flowers (Ile aux Fleurs) as the micro-climate enables the opening up of exotic plants, hydrangeas, camellias and the Queen of Flowers here: the agapanthus. You’ll visit the Saint-Michel chapel, Birlot tidal windmill and walk on the numerous beaches and creeks.
Every day of the week, the Côtes d’Armor markets offer a range of delicious local produce and products, which will delight your taste buds. This immersion in locally grown Breton produce will make you fall in love with a bottle of cider, basket of oysters, seasonal cheeses, terrines de campagne (coarse ground seasoned meats including vegetables, herbs and spices), traditional cakes and pastries, and of course the famous galettes de sarrasin (buckwheat pancake filled with spinach, egg and cheese)...
