A campsite facing the sea
Le Port de la Chaîne is a campsite which enjoys the most attractive location. It is just a stone’s throw from the wild coast in Pleubian with breathtaking scenery, where the rocks favour family shore fishing trips! Not far from the campsite, the Port la Chaîne, Kermagen and Pors Rand beaches prove perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
On-site, discover lush grounds laid out in terraces, ensuring numerous camping pitches and holiday rentals boast a sea view. This establishment’s offering, quite rightly, consists of plots available to accommodate campers and their tent, caravan, converted van or camper, including the Freecamp plots having a cabin with sanitary facilities. They also consist of holiday rentals taking the form of modern and comfortable mobile homes.
Amongst these, the Homeflower Premium designs are the most high-end. With a surface area ranging from 29 à 35 m², depending on their layout, they have two or three bedrooms, a TV and sea view! The rental’s covered terrace enables you to enjoy the benefits of life in the great outdoors, comprising pre-dinner drinks and convivial meals with family, friends or campers on neighbouring plots!
A heated aquatic park in Pleubian
The campsite also has a multitude of leisure facilities including an aquatic park, combining two heated pools. One is outdoors, the other being indoor, so you can swim whatever the weather! A children’s paddling pool, as well as a water slide complete the complex. Lovers of swimming can make the most of the numerous sunbeds set up around the pools, to indulge in idleness and relax!
For fun, children can go to the Port de la Chaîne mini-club, which accommodates young holidaymakers aged 4 to 12, during the two months of the high season (July/August). From Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the morning, and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the afternoon, children can take part in various play and educational activities. Many other activities are also on the summer programme, including all holidaymakers, and the campsite team also arranges lively and festive evenings.
Lastly, amongst the other services and amenities on this Côtes d'Armor campsite, it is worth knowing it has a bar, restaurant, takeaway service, grocery with fresh bread, children’s play area and multi-sport ground. There is a bike hire service, to explore the surrounding area.
The Côtes d’Armor – a leading tourist destination
By staying on the Le Port de la Chaîne campsite, you’ll be able to make the most of the beaches and wonders of this village, as well as the wider Côtes d’Armor region. The Sillon de Talbert coastal spit (also a nature reserve) is one of them. The main attraction in Pleubian, this dune ridge comprising sand and pebbles which is unique in Europe, stretches out over nearly three kilometres towards the sea. Enjoyed by birdwatching lovers, owing to the presence of numerous migratory birds, it also enables visitors to walk as Moses did among the waves!
In addition, the village of Pleubian is crossed by the GR 34, also known as the Sentier des Douaniers (Customs Officers' Path), which runs along the entire Breton coastline. By taking this trail, those intrigued and various hikers can make the most of natural scenery and exceptional views, particularly over the surrounding islands, Bréhat being one example. Nicknamed the ‘Island of Flowers’, this is a few kilometres offshore of the campsite. To get there, a ferry service operates from Ploubazlanec pier.
The crossing barely takes ten minutes. The island, entirely traffic-free, can be discovered on foot or by bike. Back on the mainland, holidaymakers staying on the Port de la Chaîne campsite can also go up to Perros Guirec, to discover the Côte de Granit Rose (Pink Granite Coast), or even venture through the narrow streets of Paimpol, Tréguier or Lannion.
