A perfect setting
Located in Indre et Loire, in the village of Sainte Catherine de Fierbois, the Parc de Fierbois campsite makes the most of a heavenly setting to accommodate its holidaymakers. This campsite is located by a lake nestling in the heart of a lush forest.
Opened in 1968, this outdoor establishment has since continued to invest and innovate to satisfy its residents over and over again. They were first attracted by its geographical location, just a few minutes from the main castles of the Loire by car, and are nowadays mostly charmed by the quality of the facilities and equipment.
With its 30 hectares (of which 7 are occupied by the lake), the luxury of this campsite manifests itself, among other things, by the space available to guests. They can enjoy 420 spacious pitches (with an average surface area of 130 m²) to set up their tents, caravans or campers. The Parc de Fierbois campsite also features many rentals, including comfortable and modern mobile homes, but also wooden chalets or gîtes in an old renovated Tours-style building. For an unusual holiday, the establishment also offers a tree-house, 7 metres above the ground!
Amidst the lake and forest
Although the campsite's lake attracts fishermen in large numbers, it is also a highly delightful swimming spot during the summer season. Moreover, a small beach provides entirely safe access to the water. During your stay it is also possible to swim in two water parks. This campsite has a heated indoor swimming pool and magnificent outdoor lagoon, equipped with several water slides and a water playground for the very young.
Enjoying appropriate natural surroundings, the campsite is situated deep in a forest. Here, there is a very well made treetop adventure course laid out. You can even fly over the lake on a zip line!
In addition to this activity, children and parents can enjoy many other sports facilities like a skatepark, mini golf course, tennis court, archery range, etc. Finally, the Parc de Fierbois campsite also has its own children's club, so 5 to 12 year olds can have fun without disturbing their parents.
At the heart of the Loire castles
Although the stay conditions of the Parc de Fierbois campsite are exceptional, its geographical location is equally so. Situated south of Tours, in the heart of the Val de Loire, this campsite allows tourists to rapidly access the main tourist sites of the region, including a lot of castles in the Loire Valley. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this valley extends from Orléans to Angers via Tours and Blois.
When you stay on this establishment, it only takes a few minutes to reach the Loches, Chinon, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Chenonceau, Langeais and Amboise castles.
The historical heritage includes the Fontevraud abbey. Of the other tourist attractions in the area, amongst the most popular are the Beauval zoo and Futuroscope in Poitiers, less than 45 minutes’ drive from the campsite.
