Le Sagone, heavenly campsite on the Île de Beauté
A 4-star campsite, Le Sagone nestles 40 minutes from the ports of Ajaccio and Porto. It is one of the main starting points to discover the Calanches de Piana (famous red-rock formations) and the Réserve de Scandola (a nature reserve) designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also to see the Forête d’Aitone (the Aitone Forest) and its natural swimming pools. From the campsite, you can also visit the Lac de Creno (a natural lake) and the Vergio pass where the famous GR20 mountain trek runs. Located 1.2 kilometres from the seaside and its magnificent fine sandy beaches, on the Route de Vico (the famous Vico road) this establishment is one of the most luxurious open-air hotels on the Île de Beauté. It is perfectly integrated into a 25-hectare estate extensively dedicated to the cultivation of olive and citrus fruit trees.

The Le Sagone campsite is established in an estate which is magnificently wooded and verdant, which is located in Sagone. This is a charming seaside resort with a human dimension belonging to the region Les Deux Sorru, on the western side of Corsica. The small port town of Porto and the port city of Ajaccio are located respectively 40 kilometres to the north and the south of the campsite. When disembarking from the boats, it will thus only take holidaymakers an hour arrive in Sagone.
Attractively flowered and superbly maintained, the 4 hectares form a genuine mini-paradise. The latter is planted with native trees shading a substantial proportion of the campsite plots, intended to accommodate caravans, tents and campers, as well as plots occupied by several ranges of mobile homes and canvas bungalows.
A delightful water course runs by the Le Sagone campsite, which flows into the Mediterranean 2 kilometres from the campsite. At the mouth of this river is the magnificent fine sandy beach of Sagone, as well as several shops, bars and restaurants.
On-site, holidaymakers can also take advantage of the various services on this top-of-the-range establishment in Southern Corsica. These include the La Palmeraie restaurant, a snack bar/takeaway, bar, launderette and more. It is worth noting there is a hypermarket in the immediate vicinity of the campsite.
Unsurpassed sports and leisure facilities
On the Île de Beauté, campsites able to offer as many facilities as Le Sagone are rare. Indeed the latter has a multitude of facilities, whether intended for sports or leisure, made available to holidaymakers so that they can have fun and amuse themselves Amongst these facilities, there is, of course, a lovely aquatic park.
This consists of several swimming pools, a water slide and kids paddling pool. Moreover note that holidaymakers can take advantage of aquaerobics classes or alternatively water fitness classes throughout the campsite’s annual opening period. Sports facilities available to guests on the campsite include a fully equipped grass football pitch and rugby pitch, meeting the requisite standards, and beach volleyball court. There is a badminton court, pétanque courts, tennis courts, ping-pong tables and outdoor fitness area. In addition, you’ll find a 150 m² dance and gymnastics hall, where Zumba, fitness and dance classes and many more are on offer all season.
For the brave, Le Sagone has a 4 kilometre long trim trail winding through an olive grove, comprising more than 2,000 trees with a total of 23 obstacles… Plenty to stay in shape, even during the holiday!
Holidays by the Gulf of Sagone
At the Le Sagone campsite, children and teenagers, who wish to do so, can also join one of the campsite mini-clubs to amuse themselves. Open during the summer season, the children’s club and the teenager’s club offer a multitude of activities for youngsters, as well as trips out and excursions for older children (canyoning, a snorkelling tour and other activities).
There is a kids club available in July and August, welcoming your children aged 4 to 12 with play activities specifically suited to their age group. Please note daytime childcare is available at Le Sagone, with an extra charge for lunch or the evening babysitting service, so parents can enjoy some quality time together should they wish.
During the summer, the team of activity leaders at Le Sagone make every effort to amuse young and older children with activities and entertainment organised throughout the day. Moreover, kids can make the most of a secure adventure park, with ropes course, giant trampoline and zip line! Plenty for kids who love to experience both thrills and amusement. Note that there are other games spread out across the campsite.
Lastly, when staying at this establishment, holidaymakers can go out to discover the Gulf of Sagone and the wonders which the region has to offer. From Les Calanques de Piana (Corsican calanques) in Cargèse La Grecque, and the inland gorges, to the natural swimming pools of the Aitone Forest, the latter are as numerous as they are varied! The campsite is ideally situated so that holidaymakers can go from La Balagne to Bonifacio and from Corte to Porto Vecchio on day excursions. Moreover, various partnerships with local tourism players have been established by the Le Sagone campsite. This enables those who wish to participate in activities such as diving, horse-riding, walking and other activities to do so.
