About 40 kilometres from the port of Bastia, where numerous ferries coming from the mainland - everywhere from Marseille to Naples including Nice and Toulon - draw alongside, and just a stone’s throw from the village of Moriani Plage in the commune of San Nicolao the campsite Camping Merendella is located This is one of the loveliest campsites in Corsica. It is also one of the loveliest open-air campsites to be set up by the sea on the Isle of Beauty, since the campsite opened and welcomed its first holidaymakers in 1976!
Since that date, the campsite has not stopped modernising, becoming more attractive and improving so as to meet the needs and desires for luxury and services, ever more significant for holidaymakers. Nowadays rated 4 star, it occupies a superbly wooded campsite of 7 hectares, running alongside the Costa Verde, on the coastal route linking Bastia in the far north of the ‘Isle of Beauty’ to Bonifacio, at its southernmost tip.
The campsite, with Mediterranean greenery, enjoys direct access to the beach - what is more a private beach, where holidaymakers can sit on sunloungers in the shade of parasols to relax. The sandy beach, with a length of more than 300 metres, sinks gently into the warm waters of the Mediterranean. A few dozen metres off here, inflatable floating structures enable the young and those who are older the freedom to have fun: activities include diving, climbing, catapulting and others. Aquatic games with free access set up in a secure space monitored by a lifeguard!

This luxury campsite in Haute Corse has 215 pitches, intended to accommodate campers. The latter can pitch their tent, or set up their caravan or camper van around plots of significant size, since the average surface area of these is approaching around 100 m². The other pitches are now occupied by holiday rentals taking the form of chalets, bungalows, villas and mobile homes.
The most luxurious mobile homes on this establishment are in the Prestige Optimum and Premium ranges. They have numerous indoor facilities, including a television and Senseo coffee machine, but also a private Jacuzzi located on the terrace! Plenty for you to relax in complete intimacy and without being bothered or disturbed…
As regards services, holidaymakers can find a bar - restaurant fitted out by the sea at the Merendella campsite. You can enjoy cocktails, smoothies, ice creams, but also the dish of the day, the snack bar at midday and the most elaborate dishes come the evening meal, including delicious grills on the barbecue. The location also serves as a stall selling bread and sweetbreads and buns, such as brioches, croissants and pains au chocolat. It is worth noting there is also a specific ice-cream seller by the beach and the campsite also has a second catering area, the Pizzeria U Catagnu, with an air conditioned restaurant and outdoor terraces.

Opposite the campsite, a grocery enables holidaymakers to be supplied with foodstuffs, including exceptional fruit and vegetables grown by the owners. Lastly, the entire campsite has a Wi-Fi network, which enables people to stay connected even during the holidays!
At the Merendella campsite, holidaymakers can also make the most of sports and recreational facilities: a trampoline, a children’s playground, a pétanque court, a beach soccer pitch and a beach volleyball court, ping pong tables, a sauna and others. The campsite also has a lovely covered pool which, at the beginning of 2019, will be accompanied by a genuine aquatic park. Moreover, aquabike and aquaerobics sessions are offered to holidaymakers in the swimming pool.
Lastly, you should note that the children’s club is open from Monday to Friday in July and August. It accommodates young holidaymakers from age 5, and plans play and recreational activities as much in the morning as the afternoon. The summer evenings are the chance for a multitude of entertainments to take place; a pool party, musical evenings, themed evenings and others.
