Although the first mobile homes appeared in the '50s in Great Britain and soon after crossed the Channel, we had to wait until the beginning of the ‘90s to see the first accommodation of this kind made in France appearing on French campsites. At the beginning they featured a more than minimal comfort, but the mobile home has since constantly been transformed to meet the quality expectations and requirements of its occupants.
In fact, since the '90s the campsite has been obliged to adapt to the increasingly tough competition, proposing better quality camping conditions, such as a more comfort and better facilities, more in line with the wishes of French tourists, but also and more broadly of European tourists.
In response and to keep its place as number one of tourist accommodations in France, the camping and caravanning industry started a far-reaching policy of modernisation, including at the same time fun leisure facilities and rental accommodations.
