In the heart of the magnificent Trabocchi Coast, the Ripari di Giobbe campsite enjoys an idyllic setting! Located within a nature reserve, it has direct access to a white pebble beach offering a panoramic view over the Adriatic Sea. With varied accommodation, swimming pools and a romantic restaurant by the water, this establishment has it all!
A campsite by the beach in Ortona, a breathtaking sea view over the Adriatic
Near the town of Ortona, which overlooks the Adriatic, a few kilometres south of Pescara, you’ll find the Ripari di Giobbe campsite. This establishment with a 54,000 m² surface area, enjoys an exceptional location and surroundings! The site’s terraced layout on the cliff side offers numerous panoramic views over the turquoise blue waters of the Adriatic Sea…
The campsite's two swimming pools also offer a stunning sea view. You can peacefully cool down in the water, relax with hydromassage jets or make the most of the sunshine on one of the sunloungers in the sunbathing area, admiring the horizon, which stretches as far as the eye can see... Children can swim in the shallow end of one of the pools. The show stage and entertainment area are right next to the aqua park.
The campsite also enjoys direct access to a heavenly fine pebble beach. There you can hire sunloungers and parasols. Owing to the bay’s distinctive shape, bound by two rocky headlands having a deep seabed and well-stocked with fish, the location is highly suitable for rock fishing. This takes place in the early hours of the morning, before swimmers arrive, as well as snorkelling and spearfishing. Remember to pack your masks, flippers and breathing tubes, in addition to your swimwear and sun cream, to fully make the most of the attractions on this idyllic beach.
An out-of-the-ordinary campsite, immersed in the heart of a nature reserve
As for accommodation, the Ripari di Giobbe campsite offers three types of ultra-modern eco-lodges, able to accommodate 2 to 6 people. They have an outdoor terrace and enjoy a breathtaking sea view! You can also stay in various types of equipped mobile homes, mini apartments with a panoramic view facing the sea or authentic timber-clad bungalows. The pitches opposite the sea are more exposed to the wind and are hence set aside for camper vans and caravans. The campsite accommodates tent holidaymakers in a more sheltered area, in the heart of the nature reserve..
The restaurant over the bay proves a further attraction on the Ripari di Giobbe campsite. Recently refurbished, it blends harmoniously into the exceptional surrounding landscape. Built against a natural rock wall, the establishment includes a stylish indoor restaurant, snack bar, self-service/takeaway area and panoramic terrace overlooking the beach. You can have lunch and your evening meal here, and don’t even have to prepare meals, by choosing half board and full board options... Be won over by the revamped local cuisine and tasty dishes, such as soup or fried fish, gnocchi recipes (pasta containing dumplings), and many other delicious dishes which have established the reputation of Italian gastronomy...
The campsite has a playground and ping-pong tables on hand for holidaymakers. In July and August, the activity team regularly offers games and recreational activities for young and old alike. Sports tournaments are organized here, as are play workshops and craft activities for the very young. Children are delighted to sway their hips with their friends at the mini-disco or have fun with their brothers, sisters and parents at the “Foam Party”, which you can’t possibly miss!
Discover Ortona and the fabulous Abruzzo region
Near the campsite, Ortona abounds in historical and cultural attractions to explore. Visitors can discover Ortona castle, offering a panoramic view over the town and sea and the San Tommaso basilica. A museum is given over to the fierce battle, which brought German and Canadian troops into conflict in December 1943 to liberate the town. The town’s delightful streets are perfect for walking around and enjoying local specialities in the typical trattoria restaurants.
The Trabocchi Coast conceals a multitude of golden sandy beaches and opportunities for swimming in the crystal-clear waters. For nature lovers, the Abruzzo region abounds in breathtaking nature parks, such Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga national park. These protected areas are perfect for hiking and watching wildlife. In the Province of Pescara, to the north of the campsite, the Pineta Dannunziana nature reserve offers a peaceful setting for family walks in the pine forest.
The city of Pescara is also worth a visit! Go round the picturesque streets in Borgo Marino, admire the historic centre and churches dating back to the Middle Ages, visit the Museo Della Genti d’Abruzzo museum, tracing the history of the region from prehistory to modern times. After your lunch break, comprising a cooked meats and cheese board (all Abruzzo products), a digestive walk by the sea will delight children and adults alike. The “Lungomare di Pescara” promenade is lined with parks, play areas and terraces, where you can enjoy a cappuccino or a glass of Montepulciano red wine, whilst gazing at the horizon...
