Heliopolis Village, a 4-star camping in Pineto
In Pineto, the Heliopolis camping village has accommodated its holidaymakers in excellent conditions since 2004. The Heliopolis Village campsite is located in the lovely town of Pineto. The latter is situated within the Province of Teramo in the Abruzzo region. This establishment is fully integrated into wooded, lush grounds by the sea. Trees and shrubs enable the provision of shade and coolness on-site. Moreover, such shady and cool spots are enhanced by the layout of the traditional camping and caravanning pitches on this holiday resort.
In the “Oleandri” area, plots with a 45 to 75 m² surface area are edged with hedges and blackberry bushes. In addition these are equipped with a wooden pergola, covered with a canvas shade! Within the “Helios” area, pitches are protected by a laminated timber roof, and have private sanitary facilities with a bathroom and kitchenette. If you prefer the comfort of a holiday rental, air-conditioned mobile homes able to accommodate 2 to 5 people, await you on Heliopolis Village. You’ll even find “Helios” villas, fully equipped and capable of comfortably accommodating up to 7 holidaymakers.
In the centre of the campsite, a few metres from the private beach and the sea, there is a large swimming pool with sunbathing area, to read or perfect your tan. Right nearby, a restaurant – pizzeria is open at lunchtime and in the evening. On the menu are fresh fish from the Adriatic Sea, dishes typical of the Abruzzo region and pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. A bar – cafeteria is open all day and a grocery enables you to stock up on essentials, fruit and vegetables but also beach items and regional produce and products.
Pineto, by the water
You just have to go through a gate to reach the Heliopolis Village beach in Pineto, and sit down in peace on one of the sunbeds in the shade of parasols on the campsite’s private beach. On this beach, you’ll also find a refreshment area and can have an aqua aerobics class in the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. The beaches in Pineto are dubbed the “Gems of the Abruzzo Riviera”, all designated Blue Flag and Green Flag, owing to the quality of both their swimming waters and facilities to accommodate families.
Want to make the most of the sunshine as a couple? Drop your children at the campsite mini club! This is set aside for children aged 4 to 12. Here activity leaders organize numerous activities, including treasure hunts, cooking workshops, face-painting and craft sessions etc. You can also learn dance moves and watch puppet shows! Equally young children can have fun making the most of the large outdoor play area with slides, swings and teeter-totters!
The campsite features a superb multi-purpose sports ground, to play basketball or football, but also a padel tennis court and beach volleyball court on the beach. During the high season, the activity team organizes sports tournaments: football, padel tennis and ping-pong, and offers holidaymakers the chance to take part in aqua aerobics sessions or dance classes. Come the evening, cabaret nights, games and theatre shows are planned – fun for all the family…
Go off to explore the enchanting countryside in Abruzzo
Sports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers will be won over by the multitude of activities on offer in the region: free diving, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, kitesurfing, climbing, paragliding in the town of Tocca da Casauria and bungee jumping from the Ponte di Salle bridge in the Majella National Park! With three national parks, Abruzzo is one of the greenest regions in Europe, offering numerous opportunities for trekking and Nordic walking.
Right at the campsite exit, an 8 kilometre cycle trail runs alongside the sea up to the Pineto pine forest, in a wild, undulating area. In total, more than 130 kilometres of cycle paths overlooking the Adriatic Sea await you. Whilst covering the region’s various trails, you’ll go through old villages and breathtaking scenery.
You can also go to the Lago di Scanno lake, and picnic on the shores of the largest natural basin in Abruzzo, or even admire a spectacular canyon in the Riserva Gole del Sagittario regional nature reserve, which provides a refuge for Apennine brown bears, wolves and falcons. Lastly, you can visit Citta di Castelli, a medieval village located on a rocky outcrop at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif in the Apennines. One of the loveliest villages in Italy, famous the world over for producing ceramics!
