Vidor, a luxury campsite in the heart of the Dolomites
The mountainous region of Trentino - South Tyrol, located in the north of Italy, accommodates some of the loveliest campsites on the peninsula. Amongst these, the Vidor campsite, established in Pozza di Fassa, is open throughout the entire year, thus enabling holidaymakers to discover the Dolomites, whether when green or snow-covered.
A campsite in the Val di Fassa valley
It is in the shade of the Marmolada mountain, the Sella group mountain range, the Sassolungo mountain and the Catinaccio mountain massif, some of the highest summits of the Dolomites, that we find the Vidor campsite. Laid out in the Val di Fassa valley, this high-end establishment on a human scale is a perfect family holiday resort.
Whether lovers of hiking, Alpine skiing, climbing, snowshoeing trips, Nordic walking or snowboarding, Vidor is most certainly made for you. Its ideal situation, close to the ski resorts and the starting point for numerous paths crossing the mountains, thus favours a multitude of outdoor activities, as much in winter as in summer. The mountains of the Dolomites massif are amongst the loveliest in the Italian Alps and holidaymakers staying on this campsite can simply see it for themselves, enjoying a unique view over these mythical summits.
The grounds on which Vidor has been established were laid out on one of these massifs, at 1,450 metres above sea level. The campsite occupies a wooded surface area of 28 hectares, where holidaymakers can find a large number of pitches as well as a resort bringing together a hotel with ultra-luxurious bedrooms and suites, luxury lodges, apartments and wooden chalets.
The camping pitches are divided into three categories. The most spacious, known as “Luxury XL” stretch out over 160 m², whilst the other two - “Maxi Comfort” and “Comfort” - offer an area of 120 m² and 80 m² respectively. Note that you can have a private bathroom, even if you are staying on a pitch!
Top-end facilities at 1,450 metres above sea level
A high-end campsite par excellence, Vidor offers its residents exceptional holiday surroundings. The range of services that it offers is intended to be complete, such that there is no need to take the car and drive for kilometres to find what you want. Thus, for example, there is on this campsite a supermarket having an organic and local products section, and even a restaurant – pizzeria.
A further facility, the wellness area, is without doubt the number 1 asset of this establishment, amongst the most renowned in the South Tyrol region. Known as the “Alpine Spa Beauty Center”, this luxurious establishment consists of a Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, Turkish baths, a Kneipp bath, multi-sensory showers, water massage beds with chromotherapy, as well as a relaxation area with loungers and comfortable beds. Moreover, a tea room enables you to quench your thirst with various teas, herb teas and other drinks.
The wellness area of this Dolomites campsite also has a gym with a picture window, offering a view over the massifs. Finally, a beauty centre completes the entire complex. You can enjoy a multitude of massages and revitalising treatments here, as well as body and face treatments.
An indoor and heated water park with a 360° view over the Dolomites mountains
As its name suggests, the Vidor Water Park is the campsite's aquatic area. Almost entirely enclosed and indoor, such that it is possible to swim even when outdoor temperatures are below zero, this water park extends over a surface area of 4,000 m². It consists of a large swimming pool with a panoramic view over the surrounding mountains, a children’s swimming pool with water games - the “Spray Park”, a swimming pool set aside for mothers and babies, as well as an outdoor pool.
Vidor Water Park also has three vast water slides, which it is possible to go down using rubber rings, a sunbathing area and an indoor bar. It is also worth noting that other recreational facilities are dotted around the site, such as a climbing wall, a cinema and conference room, as well as a games room equipped with ping-pong tables, table football and video games consoles over more than 350 m²…
A stay on the Vidor campsite is the chance to discover and practise many leisure and sports activities, as much in summer as in winter. When the snow covers the Dolomites massif, the 1,200 kilometres of ski slopes on the skiing area “Dolomiti Superski” are open to lovers of skiing. During the high season, holidaymakers can do hiking, downhill biking, trekking, paragliding and other activities.
