A campsite with direct access to the river in the Gard
Numerous holidaymakers stay at Le Castel Rose to enjoy the benefits of this Yelloh! Village campsite, at the gateway to the Cévennes mountains in the Gard department. Some 45 minutes’ drive from Nîmes, where the Mediterranean scrubland makes way for the lower foothills of the Massif Central mountains, this campsite is located by the Gardon river, renowned for its swimming zones and canoes.
The campsite runs alongside the river, over several hundred metres, and holidaymakers can therefore swim in the river, by enjoying the wide pebble beaches. The banks, pitches and holiday rentals enjoy a truly delightful view over the river…
Plots are divided into three categories, the “3 flower", “4 flower" and “Premium". This last brings together pitches offering surface areas of 130 m², being equipped with private sanitary facilities. The holiday rentals take the form of mobile homes equipped with 1 to 4 bedrooms, able to accommodate from 2 to 8 persons. Those in the Premium range are the most high-end, with their sheets, towels and barbecue included! In 2023, the Tiny House rentals also appeared on the campsite, plenty for a stay in out-of-the-ordinary accommodation in the Gard!
A water park and numerous recreational facilities
Le Castel Rose is a 4-star campsite in Anduze offering holidaymakers multiple services. Thus, on the seven hectares of a preserved and abundantly wooded campsite, there are no less than 4 sanitary blocks, a bar restaurant, a reception, where you can take advantage of tourist information, as well as a children’s club, open in the high season.
Among its leisure facilities, we particularly mention its lovely water park. This consists of a large lagoon swimming pool, a paddling pool with children’s water games, and a landing pool for the water slide and the multi-slide. There is also a lazy river and swimming pool, as well as hydrotherapy benches. Around the pools, there are several dozen sunloungers set up on the sunbathing areas, to enable holidaymakers to rest and get a tan!
On-site, holidaymakers can also take advantage of a large children’s play area, with a cushioned ground surface, an integrated trampoline, a tubophone sensory play facility, a spinning top, etc. A Jumpbox play facility, which is 6 metres high spread over two levels with two rope bridges below, and a net play area with obstacles and balls above, is also set up in the vicinity of the outdoor play area.

Moreover, a multi sports ground enables the numerous tournaments and sports activities to take place, sometimes organized as part of the children’s club. Lastly, several pétanque courts complete the entirety of the recreational facilities on this campsite by the river in the Gard.

The Bambouseraie in Anduze is also a must-see of the region. This exotic botanical garden is home to the largest forest of bamboos in Europe! There is also a Japanese garden, a maze, glasshouses and even a water garden…The Gallo-Roman remains in Arles, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard aqueduct, and even the Camargue are also amongst the major tourist sites of the department.
