Le Domaine de Massereau, first 5-star campsite of France!
Located in Sommières, famous town in the Gard, 27 kilometres from Nîmes and 28 from Montpellier, and in the heart of one of the most famous wineries of the region, le Domaine de Massereau is a luxury campsite, member of the Les Castels chain. First 5-star campsite in France, this establishment is the ideal place for a colourful and tasteful holiday under the sun of the Languedoc Roussillon...
A luxury campsite
Besides the quality of its wines, history will tell us that le Domaine de Massereau was the first 5-star campsite in France. And the least we can say is that this distinction is amply deserved. This high-end outdoor establishment offers indeed many assets, starting with quality rental accommodations and beautifully implanted pitches for campers.
Some of these wooded and spacious pitches can have a surface up to 200 m², and they can be embellished with a 'Premium' option, including a fridge, a grill/ barbecue, a storage case, sun loungers, a table and wooden benches and even an unlimited WiFi access on the pitch.
Among the many rental accommodations of this luxury campsite in the Gard, there are huts and wooden chalets, to be closer to nature, but also a range of modern, comfortable and perfectly equipped high quality mobile homes.
The most luxurious mobile homes are part of the "Héritage" range. Available in different versions with two or three air conditioned bedrooms, these high-end rentals can accommodate up to six people. Installed on pitches with a surface of 150 m², they have a terrace, wooden garden furniture, sun loungers and a barbecue/ plancha (optional).
Le Domaine de Massereau also boasts a restaurant offering campers the opportunity to taste many Mediterranean specialities, under a wooden pergola. What is better to enrich these delicious dishes, than a good bottle of locally produced wine!
In the heart of a vineyard
This 5-star campsite in the Gard offers a beautiful water park, surrounded by large artificial beaches and here and there shaded by the pergolas. The area is composed of a large heated pool, two giant water slides and a paddling pool with water games to amuse and entertain children.
Adults who wish to completely relax can join the spa and wellness facilities of le Domaine de Massereau. Real temple of relaxation, it features a hammam, a sauna and a whirlpool. The establishment also offers massage sessions under the large oak trees of the property.
At the edge of the Massereau Forest and near the banks of the Vidourle River, the campsite's adventure park counts as one of the major attractions in the region. Here, you can lounge on a private beach, go canoeing or stand up paddling on the river, or have fun in the ropes course that crosses the trees. For the strong sensation seekers, there's no better plan than to experience the giant zipline!
Finally, please note that three times a week, there's a guided visit for wine lovers of the property, the facilities and the vineyards... A visit of course ended by a traditional wine tasting session...
Halfway between Nîmes and Montpellier
Located in the South of France, between Montpellier and Nîmes, le Domaine de Massereau enjoys an ideal location for anyone wishing to discover the Department and, more broadly, the Languedoc Roussillon region.
The city of Nîmes, at 27 km from the campsite, is a must-see for art and history lovers staying in the region. Its numerous remains from the Gallo-Roman era are indeed worth a visit, just like its arenas, its Maison Carré, its temple of Diane, its tour Magne or its door of Auguste.
Just as important as in Nîmes, the historical heritage of the Department offers many treasures, such as the famous Pont du Gard, the most famous Roman aqueduct in France, or the medieval city of Aigues Mortes, located near the beach resort of le Grau du Roi and the Mediterranean Sea.
The regional capital Montpellier lies 28 kilometres from le Domaine de Massereau. Gateway to the beaches of the Roussillon, it is also a strategic starting point for those who wish to discover the tourist sights of the Herault, from the village of Minerva to the grand Cirque de Navacelles...
