The La Tamarissière campsite occupies the loveliest of grounds in the seaside town of Agde. You’ll find it in the out-of-the-ordinary accommodation on this Agde campsite, which consists of ‘Carabanes’, a cosy and original blend, combining the caravan concept with the decor of a timber cabin. Discover Agde and the wonders of the Hérault
During the high season, La Tamarissière also offers various activities and entertainment in the grounds. For example, just a stone’s throw from the beach, yoga sessions (beginners’, group or individual classes) are on offer for those wishing to take part. Again in July and August, the mini clubs and activity leaders welcome children and teenagers. Play and educational, sports and water-based activities take place here. Lastly shows and musical entertainment are also on the programme for summer evenings on this Agde campsite.
Between the beach and campsite, several bunkers on the Mediterranean Wall, a counterpart to the Atlantic Wall are scattered throughout the area. Two of these, ‘bunkers 638 and 610‘ have been completely restored by Agde 39-45, a local heritage preservation association. These are now open to visitors. Bunker 638 was a 200 m² field hospital while bunker 610 was the command and control post for the La Tamarissière battery, operating the site’s heavy artillery defences.
By staying on the La Tamarissière campsite, holidaymakers can make the most of the campsite’s geographical location to explore the seaside resort of Agde, one of the most popular and lively on the entire Languedoc coast. The town has lovely sandy beaches, where you can swim but also do numerous sports and water sports, such as towable tube, kitesurfing or even waterskiing.

From the campsite, holidaymakers are invited to visit the villages of Saint Guilhem le Désert, Olargues and Minerve as well as the Grotte des Demoiselles cave, Cirque de Navacelles canyon, Lac du Salagou lake and the Neuf Ecluses de Fonséranes (a lock staircase historically with eight locks and nine gates).
