They take the form of Tiny Homes or cottages, some of which are next to each other, sharing a communal seating area to accommodate groups of up to 12 (large families or groups of friends). There are two possible options in this regard; head for the coastal beaches or even the beach on the campsite’s immense aqua park. Reach the Portiragnes beaches in no time. Only a few minutes drive away, holidaymakers can stretch out on the warm sand and indulge in traditional summer sunbathing and idleness sessions opposite the Mediterranean Sea!
With the Les Mimosas aqua park, simply seeing the facilities leaves you speechless. Not for nothing do many consider it one of the loveliest campsite aqua complexes in France! This aqua play heaven consists of four pools, a wave lagoon reproducing the motion of ocean currents and a large pool for swimming, diving and recreational water activities, which often take place here. Examples include aqua aerobics sessions or even aqua games in the evening…
There is also a counter-current river, paddling pool and balneotherapy area and above all seven water slides, every one a wild splash of adventure in equal measure! Of these, the Space Hole and Aqua Looping are, most certainly, amongst the most original in France! The Space Hole comprises a long descent through a tube, allowing you to pick up speed and adrenalin, before being thrown into a giant funnel. After several slide turns, daredevils end up in a swimming pool, right after passing through the funnel neck, forming a giant waterfall... The Aqua Looping is quite simply the fastest slide around! Only thrill-seekers dare risk it! They are thrown vertically at speeds in excess of 50 miles per hour!
Amongst the other recreational facilities on this establishment, there is a children’s play area, but also three mini clubs, enabling young holidaymakers to have fun all summer! In addition you’ll find a multi-sports facility, petanque court, weights room and games room with pool, table football, pinball and arcade games. To relax and feel good, holidaymakers are invited to visit the campsite wellness area, with massage and sauna sessions and beauty treatments on offer.
Lastly, Les Mimosas offers holidaymakers a multitude of services. Within the grounds of this exceptional campsite, there is a grocery and two catering areas. These include ‘Le Kraken’, a bar – restaurant by the aqua park’s pools and ‘Le Sunset‘, a bar – restaurant with lounge terrace, to enjoy a meal or cocktail in peace, within cosy laid-back surroundings! During your stay, you can also make the most of a half-board or takeaway service, or even delivery to your pitch. Throughout the campsite’s opening months, a free shuttle bus links the campsite with the Portiragnes beaches, several times a day, even though they’re just a short walk away! Portiragnes Plage, a family seaside resort in the Hérault
Between the town of Portiragnes and the dependant coastal and seaside resort of Portiragnes Plage, you’ll find the Les Mimosas campsite. Located on the banks of the Canal du Midi, which flows into the Hérault river between Agde and Vias, this establishment is only a few metres from Port Cassafieres, a stop for boats and barges using the canal. Worth remembering this links the Mediterranean Sea to the Garonne river, and further on to the Atlantic Ocean. Hence it forms the so-called ‘Canal des Deux Mers’ (Two-Seas Canal)…
Holidaymakers staying on this 5-star campsite, in addition to making the most of the numerous attractions, activities and entertainment organized here, can also take advantage of their free time. They can thus discover the Hérault department and visit some of the region’s tourist attractions. The Côte d’Améthyste (lying between the Côte Vermeille and Camargue coasts) is obviously one such popular draw, with countless seaside resorts dotting the Hérault coastline; Valras Plage, Sérignan Plage, Marseillan Plage, Cap d'Agde, Frontignan, Palavas les Flots, etc. Each of them worth a visit and a walk.
The inland region also abounds in treasures, such as Saint Guilhem le Désert, Minerve and Olargues, three of the ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’ (‘Most Beautiful Villages of France’, the label promoting rural villages with vast cultural and architectural heritage).
