L’Hermitage, a 5 star campsite between Sérignan and Valras Plage
To the south of Béziers, between Sérignan and Valras Plage, and barely 2 kilometres from the Mediterranean and the long sandy beaches on the Côte d’Améthyste coast, the L’Hermitage campsite is located. Rated 5 star this establishment - a member of the Capfun group - has a multitude of attractions, enabling holidaymakers to spend the loveliest of stays in the Hérault département.
A campsite just a stone’s throw from Béziers...
The L’Hermitage campsite is amongst the loveliest of such facilities in the seaside resort of Valras Plage. Having become part of the Capfun group in 2018, the latter occupies grounds with a human dimension, on the road linking the town of Sérignan to the seaside resort of Valras Plage. An absolutely ideal position which enables its holidaymakers to quickly go to the seaside and the beach, but also to the shops and shopping centres in Sérignan, accessible on foot in just a few minutes!
Rated 5 star, L’Hermitage is a campsite where everything is done to make holidaymakers feel good. From the annual opening of the campsite until its closure, the team is available to holidaymakers to pour out tourist advice, organise activities but also to meet their least need.
It is also with the objective of meeting holidaymakers’ needs that this Valras Plage campsite has several shops and facilities on site. For something to eat, it is thus possible to go to the “Rive Droite”, the restaurant on the L’Hermitage campsite. To cool down over an ice cream or a cocktail, head for the “Hemingway” snack bar. Moreover, this has a billiard table, a table football, as well as a screen for broadcasting sports events.

The other on-site services include a grocery for emergencies, a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryers, Wi-Fi coverage across the entire campsite, a service for the hire of barbecues, sheets and other items. A further service which goes down particularly well with parents is the children’s and teenagers’ clubs. The first, open 5 days out of 7 in the low season and 6 days out of 7 in the high season, offers the very young the chance to take part in painting activities, plasticine, mini disco, and other pursuits. The second accommodates teenagers aged 12 to 17 for 3 days out of 7 in the low season and 6 days out of 7 in the high season.
Activities and entertainment which are organised take place across the various recreational facilities on the campsite, namely a multi sports ground, a volleyball court, a teenagers’ games room, a children’s play area, an inflatable structure, a gym, as well as a 600 m² area for playing boules.
The L’Hermitage campsite also has a magnificent heated aquatic park equipped with two large swimming pools, a paddling pool for children as well as water slides. These take the form of a multi lane water slide and a Spacebowl, an impressive structure with a siphon - set aside for those with a height of more than 1.2 metres!
Go out and explore the Béziers countryside...
On the borders of the Aude and Hérault départements, the L’Hermitage campsite enjoys an idyllic location in the vicinity of the lovely coastal beaches and the major tourist locations in the countryside just inland from Béziers. The town of Béziers, barely 15 kilometres (9 miles) away, is home to a multitude of treasures.
For example, this is so with the Saint Nazaire cathedral, the Roman arenas, the Pont Vieux bridge on the Orb and indeed even the 9 locks of Fonseranes (a lock flight on the Canal du Midi canal). With more than 400,000 visitors each year, it is the most visited site of the Hérault département, and the third-most visited of the Occitania region. Major feats of engineering on the famous Canal du Midi, these locks and the site surrounding them were entirely restored in 2017.
Around Béziers, those curious can go up to the Gorges d’Héric (Héric gorges), to the Mont Caroux massif and to Saint Guilhem le Désert, one of the loveliest villages in France (“Les Plus Beaux Villages de France”). They can also go up to the medieval town of Carcassonne, to the Cathar châteaux or indeed even up the lovely town of Pézenas.
