A campsite close to Perpignan and the Mediterranean
Le Sainte Marie campsite is in the eponymous village of Sainte Marie la Mer, a seaside resort In the Pyrénées Orientales, very close to the Mediterranean coast and around 15 kilometres from Perpignan. It extends over 16 hectares of vast wooded flowering grounds, enjoying a natural well-kept setting, with fields, the beach, and mouth of the Têt, a coastal river with its source near the Pic de Canigó mountain.
On this resort, holidaymakers can stay on spacious grass pitches, screened by hedges. They are equally suited to tents, caravans, van conversions and campervans. Ranging from 80 to 110 m², these pitches offer a high degree of privacy, attractively laid out over the grounds, near the campsite facilities and services. All have a 10-amp electrical hookup, with water points dotted over the entire campsite.
Le Sainte Marie also offers a wide range of mobile homes. Well equipped, depending on their layout they can accommodate couples, families and groups going up to 7 people. For those seeking a unique experience, out of the ordinary yet enjoying convenient facilities, 25 m² Lodge tents are also available for hire.
The multitude of facilities and services and a water park!
The campsite offers a range of on-site facilities and services making holidaymakers everyday lives easier, particularly with a bar and restaurant (including the terrace home to numerous evening events and entertainment), snack bar – takeaway, grocery, as well as practical services such as bicycle hire. The layout of the grounds means you can make full use of the facilities, all within easy reach.
The activities on offer are aimed at all guests. Children can take part in the kids club activities, whilst adults make the most of sports grounds, the cross-country course, pétanque court or sports and leisure activities, taking place during the day in the high season.
The water park is one of the campsite’s key facilities. It consists of several pools, an interactive water play area, water slides, paddling pool, jacuzzis and relaxation areas, so everyone can switch between swimming, slides and times spent unwinding during the day!
Beaches accessible on foot, by bike or by boat!
Near the campsite, the wild beach at Sainte Marie and Canet public beach with lifeguards are both accessible, using a trail or by boat in July and August, the crossing 50 cents per person (return). These beaches have their own unique, yet complementary character; Sainte Marie offers natural spaces by the mouth of the Têt river, while Canet affords family swimming with lifeguard supervision. From the campsite, both are equally accessible on foot or by bike, owing to the traffic-free paths and cycle trails.
Le Sainte Marie’s immediate surroundings favour cycling on the landscaped bike paths, particularly along the coast towards Canet en Roussillon. These routes enable discovery of coastal landscapes, at an enjoyable pace accessible for all. From the campsite, you can also head down the Têt river by canoe or paddleboard.
Lastly, being near Perpignan, you can enrich your stay, with cultural and urban adventures. The city boasts an impressive historic heritage, lively markets and a multitude of activities. A little further south, the scenic Côte Vermeille coast, on the Mediterranean, is also worth a visit during your stay at Le Sainte Marie.
