You’ll also find a water slide and sunbathing area here, to make the most of the plentiful sunshine on the Côte Vermeille. If you don’t wish to cook after a morning’s idleness by the water, go to the campsite restaurant, where you’ll be welcomed with lovely dishes and a cheerful smile!
There are a multitude of other services to make your life easier and your holiday even more relaxing on this outdoor establishment in Sainte Marie la Mer. These include a snack bar, grocery, automatic launderette, and even a bicycle hire stand to go off to explore the region’s natural beauty.
Stay less than 500 metres from the beach and Mediterranean Sea
Give your children an unforgettable stay between the sea and mountains, thanks to the Marinette campsite! In July and August, a children’s club welcomes those aged 4 to 12, 5 days a week for fun, sports and creative activities. They can also have fun together in the play area or on the inflatable play facility on the campsite, and won’t under any circumstances miss their favourite weekly get-togethers: the foam party, show or evening swim.
The Sainte Marie la Mer beach, barely 500 metres from the Marinette campsite is perfect for swimming and having fun in the water, to get a sun tan, build sand castles and read in the shade of a parasol. You can also do loads of water sports and sports activities here. A beach club offers hire of stand-up paddle boards, catamarans, windsurfing and sea kayaks, whilst a diving club entices the intrigued to discover the marine flora and fauna which inhabit and are scattered over the Côte Vermeille coast.
Make the most of your stay to also travel the coastal paths in the Pyrénées Orientales, which run alongside long and lovely sandy beaches, rocky creeks, charming Catalan villages, orchards and fishing ports. In total, there are nearly 3.500 kilometres of marked trails on offer to you in this department where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean Sea...
The Pyrénées Orientales, breathtaking beauty
Be surprised by the beauty of the scenery on offer in the Pyrénées Orientales department. Visit Collioure and discover this famous village of Catalan fishermen, having an amazing medieval heritage and colourful alleyways which have inspired and still continue to inspire many artists! Around thirty kilometres from the campsite find the Anse de Paulilles bay, a protected and designated natural site, with breathtaking beauty.
Go round Perpignan, with the “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire” designation (reflecting its heritage, architecture and living environment), and “Patrimoine XXème siècle” label (indicating protected status as an urban area). It is the main city of the Pyrénées Orientales department. Walk through its colourful districts and streets lined with palm trees, which give it a distinctly Catalan feel. Discover the Saint Jean Baptiste cathedral, the Palais des Rois de Majorque (the palace used by the kings of Majorca and Aragón, Spain), the Castillet tower and its Casa Pairal museum (on history and ethnography)... Succumb to the delights in “la Rayonnante” (a slogan used to reflect Perpignan’s status as a city of light, radiance, beauty and art, pushing inhabitants to excel themselves). Allow yourself to be dragged into dancing the Sardana, the traditional dance in Catalan Country.
Finally, to children’s delight, take them to the Dinosarium de Torreilles (a dinosaur museum), where you’ll encounter animals which have long died out, whilst walking in botanical gardens. The “Aqualand” water park is also located in the area around the Marinette campsite. On the programme, slides, water games and numerous shouts of laughter!
