La Vallée, a 5-star campsite in Houlgate
It is in the outskirts of Houlgate, two steps from the beach resorts of Dives sur Mer and Cabourg and not even a ten-minute walk from the beach and the English Channel that we find camping La Vallée. This 5-star establishment is member of the Yelloh! Village Group, and one of the most beautiful holiday resorts of the Calvados...
A campsite at 900 meters from the beach
At less than a kilometre from the city centre and the beach of Houlgate, on a nicely wooded and flowery 11-acres landscaped property, overlooking the seafront villas and the English Channel, campsite La Vallée welcomes tourists in one of the best and most luxury holiday resorts of the Calvados.
Campers coming here can stay in the heart of a more or less hilly park, offering here and there great views on the open sea. In this park different buildings have been developed in the purest regional style, with many half-timbered constructions offering reception and leisure facilities, beautiful camping pitches and high-end rentals.
372 pitches are spread out over the 11 acres of this outdoor establishment in Houlgate. Among these, 170 have been specifically separated to accommodate tents, caravans and campers. With a minimum surface area of 100 m², they are maintained with care and are all equipped with an electrical supply and a water connection.
The rest of the pitches are covered by comfortable mobile homes, implanted on plots ranging from 180 to 220 m². Modern, they all feature a flat-screen TV and a terrace on which it is possible to have a meal or a drink with family or friends.
Real favourite of this 5-star campsite in the Calvados, the water park of 1,200 m² consisting of an outdoor pool of 230 m², a paddling pool of 50 m², a covered and heated swimming pool of 145 m² (with its paddling pool), a water slide with three tracks, and a balneo area with massaging jets, and a bubble bath with capacity for 20 people. A sunbathing area of 800 m² has been developed so that swimmers can enjoy the sun as soon as they come out of the water!
Other leisure and sports facilities of La Vallée include a regulation-sized football field, a beach volleyball field, two jeu-de-boules courts, a stunt bike circuit, a tennis court, two playgrounds with no less than fifteen games to climb and swing, table tennis tables, an arcade games room and a billiards room.
During the season, hosts are in charge to organize many activities, for children as well as for adults. Thus, it is not rare that guests can participate in archery sessions, climbing initiations or yet diving baptisms in the pool. In the evening, different concerts and events boost the nights on camping La Vallée...
For an unforgettable stay in Normandy
Quintessential luxury campsite, La Vallée does not only rely on its comfort and the quality of its facilities to seduce tourists. The proximity to the sea, the beach of Houlgate and the seaside resorts of Dives sur Mer and Cabourg are also real assets, as well as its geographical location that offers guests the opportunity to easily reach many other tourist sites of Normandy...
Thus, it only takes a ten-minute walk to reach the huge sandy beach of Houlgate, the pearl of the Côte Fleurie considered to be one of the most beautiful beach resorts of the Normandy coast. Along the sea, beautiful buildings and villas, dating mostly from the beginning of the last century, form a postcard scenery that is really nice to admire from the beach.
The beach is the theatre of many fun and water activities. The vast majority of tourists come here to swim, relax in the sun and let the children play and build sand castles, but others can practise water skiing, wake boarding, kayaking, stand up paddle, etc. You can register at the Houlgate sailing school to get the hang of sailing on an optimist, a dinghy, a catamaran or try out windsurfing.
Respectively located at 3.7 and 5.2 kilometres from campsite La Vallée, the beach resorts of Dives sur Mer and Cabourg are also worth a walk and why not, make a stop at the casino! A bit further, the D-Day beaches are a highly recommended must-see. Around here you can visit many museums, memorials, military cemeteries and other traces of this era, allowing you to learn more about the events of D-Day...
