La Capricieuse is an extraordinary children’s playground. Throughout the entire day, they can as they wish jump on the bouncy castle or climb across the “accro-game” adventure play trail on the restaurant rooftop. They are able to make friends by taking part in craft, creative and sports activities at the kids club (for those aged 5-7) or the juniors club (for those aged 8-12). Even babies may explore the “Baby zone” on the first floor of the games room, under the watchful eye of their parents. The Calvados department, a land of history and countryside became the theatre for a significant event during the Second World War: the allied Normandy landings of 6th June 1944 and ensuing Battle of Normandy. Today you can visit the the D-Day museums and Atlantic wall (built by the Germans for this operation), Omaha Beach and Utah Beach memorials and British, German, American and Canadian military cemeteries. Should you go to Caen, be sure to visit the Mémorial de Caen, a museum dedicated to 20th century history and peace.
