The most beautiful campsite in Cotentin!
On the Cotentin peninsula, a few kilometres from Cherbourg, you can find one of the most beautiful campsites in France. With 5-stars and an exceptional location by the sea, offering tourists panoramic views over the English Channel, there is no doubt that a stay on the Les Castels L'Anse du Brick campsite is like spending a holiday at a Norman Olympiad.
A Garden of Eden by the sea
L’Anse du Brick - a name loaded with history. Small flashback. Well before a campsite was established on the shores of a bay in the town of Maupertus sur Mer, the location served as a refuge for privateer vessels during the storms which hit the Normandy coast, unless we mean the name given to the hill Val de Saire by the Viking “Brekka”. Cherbourg, a port of military of importance, is only about 10 kilometres away. Nowadays, although the location is still as well protected against the wind, there are no sailing ships on the horizon, but a charming campsite occupying grounds of 17 hectares. Laid out in terraces, it offers holidaymakers a panoramic view across the sea.
Yes indeed, in addition to having a unique perspective over the English Channel, the L'Anse du Brick can boast being located just 150 metres from a beach, accessible via a secure footpath!
A location ideal for swimming, this beach is one of the many charming attractions of the L'Anse du Brick campsite. This establishment meets all the quality criteria of the market, starting with its pitches, spacious and green, as well as its holiday rental offering, comprised of comfortable and modern cottages, glamping lodge tents, chalets and even 3 villas. The height of luxury, some plots and certain holiday rentals even feature a sea view.
Quality facilities
With barely more than 220 pitches and holiday rentals, L’Anse du Brick is a family campsite par excellence. Not too big nor too small, it offers its residents quality facilities. The pitches have a large surface, ranging from 90 to 150 m². Partially shaded, they all have all an electric supply. Each of these luxury rentals has a terrace with a barbecue, a TV and garden furniture.
Another significant facility is the water park of this campsite on the Cotentin peninsula. It offers, in addition to an indoor swimming pool and a paddling pool, a second swimming pool outdoors. All are heated, including the indoor pools, which even have a temperature of 28°C. Moreover, a water slide and elements of balneotherapy in the indoor swimming pool add to these facilities.
We should also note that this campsite, which is a family campsite, offers a children's club and proposes every day in July and August, a multitude of sports and recreational events, as well as nightly shows ending around 11 p.m., so your nights will be both peaceful and comfortable. Amongst the most recent facilities to date are the Pump Park, an undulating BMX bike and scooter circuit, the indoor games area of 117 m² for the under 12s, as well as a gym for adults.
A peninsula to explore
L'Anse du Brick is a campsite located by the sea in the town of Maupertus sur Mer, in the north of the Cotentin peninsula. Surrounded by a protected 300-acres area dotted with seaside trails to discover during long family walks, it benefits from a privileged situation to discover the sights of the Department la Manche, and, more broadly, of Normandy.
Thus, the large city of Cherbourg is only 10 kilometres from L'Anse du Brick, and it would be a shame to miss a visit to the Cité de la Mer aquarium and maritime museum, whilst you're staying at the campsite. The Tatihou Museum Island, accessible by amphibian boat and where it is possible to find the fortifications of Vauban, is 30 kilometres away. The cliffs of the Nez de Jobourg, which rank among the highest in Europe, are 40 kilometres away.
Finally, although the Normandy Landings beaches are a must (the nearest being only 40 kilometres away), we can definitely recommend visiting Mont Saint Michel, a tourist Mecca in the English Channel.
