Le Cormoran, a luxury campsite on the beaches of D-Day
Five star campsite Le Cormoran, in Ravenoville Plage, on the West side of the English channel in Normandy, is a luxury campsite belonging to the Kawan Village chain. Located in the regional nature park of the marshes of Cotentin and Bessin, it borders Utah Beach and lies only 9 kilometres from Sainte Mère Eglise. Two of the most famous D-Day sites...
Mobile home rental in Utah Beach
This luxury well maintained and beautifully flowered campsite is located by the sea and next door to Utah Beach, ideal for anyone who wants to stay near the English channel, close to the main memorial sites of D-Day. From pitches to rentals, everything is done here to make your holiday the best one ever.
Campers have the choice between four different types of pitches. The most basic ones have a 100 m² surface, while the most luxury pitches can range from 120 to 130 m². These high-end pitches all have a barbecue, electric supply, water points, a sewage system for waste water and the so-called "Premium" pitches even have a heated hut with private sanitary, storage and a dish wash sink. Each lawned and green pitch is separated by small hedges, reminding the residents that we are here in the hedged farmland of Normandy.
Among the rental accommodations of le Cormoran, there are different types of mobile homes and chalets, each featuring its own standing. The small extra of this exceptional campsite is that it is also possible to stay in an ultra comfortable villa of 120 m², or in high-end trailers, perfect for a glamping stay in Normandy!
As for the services and facilities, this luxury campsite in Sainte Mère Eglise has a very British bar, a grocery store and a take away service. Every Sunday morning, a rotisserie offers wood-fired roasted chicken.
Luxury by the sea
As for the fun recreational facilities, they are plentiful in this establishment. Le Cormoran features for example a great water park, composed of two heated pools and one indoor pool of 120 m². The other two pools include a 150 m² swimming pool and a 50 m² paddling pool. A water slide, a fountain and water games let the youngest discover the joys of water, while the adults can enjoy the whirlpool and the sauna to relax.
During the summer season, aquagym and muscular awakening sessions are daily organized in one of the pools of this campsite with water park in Normandy. Sporty people can also enjoy the sports fields and the outdoor fitness devices on the property, to do their daily work out.
Those who wish to take care of themselves in a less physical way can go to the campsite's beauty salon. A beauty specialist proposes various body and facial treatments.
As for the little ones, they can have fun on one of the playgrounds of Le Cormoran. These include trampolines, swings, small houses and inflatable games. The establishment also has a games room with table tennis, arcade games, pinball, foosball and a library and a TV room.
Still for the youngest, small pedal karts can be rented (for children under 12) allowing them to move safely over the campsite in an original and fun way.
Please also note that there's an animal park and an equestrian centre in this outdoor establishment. There's nothing more fun than horseback riding on the sand of Utah Beach!
A great stay in Normandy
A stay on this 5-star campsite in Ravenoville Plage is the opportunity to discover Normandy, a region loaded with history. From castles to the last blockhouses of the Atlantic wall, that concentrate a historical heritage of remarkable density. There's no better way to visit these, as many major sites of the events of June 6, 1944 are situated close to le Cormoran.
The D-Day beaches, the memorials and the museums, the old batteries of coastal defence and the military cemeteries..., the English channel and the Calvados are dotted with sites related to World War II and the Battle of Normandy.
But tourism in the region is not confined to history and D-Day. The Norman tourist sights are numerous and varied, from hedged farmlands to the sea, and from the Mont Saint Michel to the cliffs of la Hague. During you holiday you can discover some of these places, but you can also taste the culture and the local gastronomy, famous for its cheeses and its alcohols, like the Calva, or the Norman cider...
