Le Caussanel, exceptional campsite in the Aveyron
The 5-star campsite Les Castels Le Caussanel, located in Canet-de-Salars, on the shores of the Pareloup Lake, is an exceptional site. This establishment, boasting an idyllic natural setting, is open from May to September and is among one of most beautiful campsites of the Aveyron.
A holiday by the lake
Resulting from the construction of a dam in the 1950s, the Pareloup Lake, whose name comes from the wolf form when viewed from the sky, is a main leisure base in the Department of the Aveyron.
One of its shores is today occupied by Le Caussanel, an outdoor establishment settled on the property of an old traditional farmhouse with barns dating back to the beginning of the last century, now renovated to welcome the campsite's reception, the restaurant and the banquet facilities. If the old stones give a special charm to this campsite, it also benefits from a landscaped scenery with beautiful trees welcoming the guests.
They can enjoy spacious lawned pitches to place their tent, caravan or camper. The campsite also has a wide range of rental accommodations, including high-end mobile homes and wooden chalets. Each accommodation has its own shaded terrace and in-house facilities abound.
High range facilities and services
Le Caussanel, bordered by the Pareloup Lake is the ideal place to practice many water sports. The shore has been developed, so the guests can swim here, but also relax and enjoy the sun by lying on the grass of this natural beach. On the campsite it is also possible to rent canoes and water bikes. At ten minutes of the latter, a sailing school has all the necessary equipment for windsurfing or dinghy, optimist or catamaran sailing.
As for the water park of the campsite, it has no less than four pools. Between water slides and other water games, it is a paradise for children! Adults can enjoy a swimming pool of 100 m² and a sunbathing area bordering the pools to indulge in idleness.
Note also that this establishment offers many sports facilities, such as a climbing wall, and it is possible to attend dance or gym sessions. A children's club welcomes the youngest during the season, while a multitude of activities are organised by the campsite for teenagers. Finally, the evening entertainment brings the tourists together, to share warm and sociable moments...
An ideal location in the Aveyron
The Aveyron, Department in the Midi-Pyrenees, boasts countless tourist attractions. Le Caussanel, enjoying a central location on the banks of the Pareloup Lake, allows to reach these treasures easily, including the Gorges of the Aveyron, of the Lot and Tarn, the countries of the Causses, the Cevennes, the Aubrac and the Knights Templar sites of the Larzac.
The Aveyron, nature territory, is crossed by three major rivers, which have carved beautiful and deep canyons (gorges). We recommend to canoe them down, so you can enjoy this beautiful scenery by following the stream.
The Causses, the Cevennes and the Aubrac boast many charming villages, and some are part of the very official list of 'the most beautiful villages of France'. Belcastel, Conques, Roquefort, Estaing, Najac and Sainte-Eulalie-d'Olt attract tourists and old stone lovers. Finally, the Knights Templar sites of the Larzac, such as the medieval town of La Couvertoirade, are a must when you stay in the Aveyron.
