A holiday in the countryside on Le Lac des 3 Vallées!
Exceptional campsites with all mod cons, far from the seaside and major tourist hot spots are rare. The Le Lac des 3 Vallées campsite, a member of the Yelloh! Village group and rated 5 star, is therefore seen as a rare gem! Located in the middle of nowhere, in Lectoure within the Gers department, it is even considered as one of the loveliest campsites in France...
From Camping to Glamping
The grounds where the Le Lac des 3 Vallées is located are quite simply exceptional. A 140-hectare landscaped, lush and wooded park (with in particular a few trees over 100 years old!), right in the middle of undulating Gers valleys, on which three streams converge, has been laid out to accommodate passing holidaymakers and tourists in south-west France.
This establishment, a few kilometres from Lectoure, halfway between Auch and Agen, has many benefits which appeal to and satisfy guests. Beginning with the three lakes dotted around these exceptional grounds. The largest, with a 5-hectare surface area, offers the opportunity to go canoeing or have romantic pedalo trips. The second, more wild, is reserved for fishermen. Lastly, the third delights dogs, who can make the most of this lake to swim under the approving gaze of their owners.
Amongst these three lakes, wooded pitches laid to lawn are separated by planted hedges appearing in succession. Although they are intended to accommodate tents, caravans or campers, others are occupied by furnished luxury cottages. The plots in the Premium range are the best equipped. They in particular have a surface area exceeding 150 m², arbour, garden furniture set and barbecue. If the multiple ranges of cottages do not meet your criteria, be aware that Le Lac des 3 Vallées also has lodge tents on stilts, for an even more original and out-of-the-ordinary holiday!
A holiday in the middle of nowhere
Although the campsite is situated in the middle of nowhere, that said this does not mean you have to take the car and drive for miles to access services here. All the shops and facilities required for a successful stay are already on-site. Amongst these, we highlight the grocery, bakery, launderette or even the library. Catering areas here consist of a pizzeria, “Le Kiosque” snack bar with a tavern atmosphere, tea room, “Le Dodu” crêperie and lively “TDL” bar.
On the leisure front, the water park gets everyone’s approval. You can also swim in the large freshwater lake, where an artificial sandy beach has been especially laid out, so you can safely access it. However, the majority of swimmers head for the water park. With the 2,500 m² surface area, heated pools, counter-current swimming river, a paddling pool with aqua play facility, water slides including a tube slide 60 metres long, and vast sunbathing area, the facilities are truly impressive!
Lastly also note that this 5 star campsite in the Gers has a baby club (where babies must be kept under the watchful eye of at least one parent), two kids clubs and teens club. They offer a multitude of evening entertainment, fun for all the family!
Flavours and tradition in the Gers region
The Gers is the beating heart of Gascony and south-west France. This Department, whose fame comes mainly from the gastronomic products (Foie Gras, Confits and Armagnac), is a land of valleys, lakes and forests, situated at the gates of the Pyrenees and offering many ancestral villages and farmhouses full of character.
This land, home to the famous musketeer D'Artagnan is today considered as one of the lungs of France. Many trips cover this area, dubbed “French Tuscany”, enabling tourists to discover an exceptional historical, natural and cultural heritage.
Fortified houses, castles and country houses succeed each other through curves and valleys. Lectoure is the perfect example of this. Capital of the Lomagne region, for a long time it was home to the castle of the powerful Earls of Armagnac. Today it is an important health resort, and it has kept the spirit of the remains of a rich, colourful history, obviously just like the Gers.
