27 hectares of countryside and wellness in the Lot
This high-end campsite in the Lot department occupies superb grounds of 27 hectares located 38 kilometres north of Cahors, amidst which stands a former stone farmhouse, including buildings which have been completely restored to today house various services intended for holidaymakers.
They can choose to stay on one of the 46 pitches laid out in the landscaped and wooded park on the site, or even in one of the 49 holiday rentals. Plots intended to accommodate traditional campers and their tents, caravans, campers and converted vans are spacious (from 120 to 230 m²) and are, in some cases, equipped with an electrical connection of 6 or 10 amps.
The Domaine de la Faurie holiday rental pitches take the form of mobile homes, chalets and glamping tents. Amongst the mobile homes, the most comfortable and spacious are in the Exclusif (exclusive) range. This takes the form of 2-3 bedroom mobile homes, respectively extending over surface areas of 32 and 38 m², to accommodate 4 to 6 persons.
This Lot campsite makes available to its holidaymakers a multitude of services, starting with “Aromae”, the restaurant-snack-bar notably offering local and regional specialities! Moreover twice a week during the summer this organizes, culinary activities where various dishes are prepared for an audience of those intrigued and other gourmet lovers. A grocery, bicycle hire service, Wi-Fi access on the bar terrace and a launderette complete the range of services offered on-site.
A water park, leisure facilities and numerous activities
The Domaine de la Faurie has a delightful water park, consisting of two heated swimming pools, a paddling pool and children’s splash pad. Around the pools, sunloungers enable those who wish to the opportunity to sunbathe and rest by the water, whilst making the most of a panoramic view over the surrounding hills.
In the vicinity of the swimming pools other leisure facilities have been put in, such as a large outdoor play area for the very young with slides, swings and titter-totters and bouncy castles. Furthermore, children are pampered on this establishment as they can take part in a multitude of activities such as pony lessons, workshops for building wooden games, ‘Cave art’, drama classes or even swimming lessons with an instructor in one of the swimming pools.
Adults and teenagers are not left out, as they can make the most on-site of a large pétanque court, badminton court, ping-pong tables, multi-sports grounds, relaxation sessions and many other activities and entertainment. An activity programme which, during the summer months, continues into the evening with concerts and games taking place in a convivial and festive atmosphere around the campsite restaurant.
Please note that off the campsite, service providers and tourist organizations, offer activities which are equally interesting for families and groups of friends: a canoe day out in the Dordogne, Lot or Célé valley, potholing, climbing, treetop adventure, canyoning, etc.
A perfect campsite to discover the Lot and the Périgord Noir regions
Holidaymakers staying on the Domaine de la Faurie particularly enjoy the geographical location of this campsite, which enables them to tour equally around the Lot and the Dordogne departments. Indeed the Périgord Noir is very close, and there are only 46 kilometres between Séniergues and Sarlat la Canéda, the capital of the Périgord.
In the Dordogne, walled towns and medieval citadels are to be discovered, as with the famous Castelnaud la Chapelle castle, home to a Museum of War in the Middle Ages. There are also highly troglodyte tourist sites, as well as numerous prehistoric caves including the most famous with a replica cave you can visit: the Lascaux cave. Finally, the markets in the Périgord towns and villages allow you to discover and enjoy the local produce including foie gras, confit de canard (duck confit), chestnuts or even truffles.
Even closer to the campsite, the tourist attractions of the Lot are equally numerous and varied. Amongst the wonders of this department, we should mention the amazing Gouffre de Padirac (chasm), the Pont Valentré fortified bridge in Cahors, the Grotte de Pech Merle cave, the villages of Autoire, Loubressac and Saint Cirq Lapopie and the fortified town of Rocamadour, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
