A member of the Vacanze Col Cuore group of campsites, this top-of-the-range establishment, nestling in the heart of a lush natural region, running alongside rivers and on the German border, offers you a wide choice of pitches, mobile homes, bungalows and various glamping tents.
On this high-end campsite in Denekamp, you can choose from several types of pitches being approximately 100 m² to 140 m², with water and electricity, to set up your tent, caravan and camper. Some of these pitches are even equipped with a private bathroom and kitchen area on the plot. Nearby, there are 2 sanitary facilities with spacious family showers. These buildings are notably equipped with separate children’s areas with showers, baby baths and large areas set aside for washing up.
As regards accommodation, various types of mobile home are on offer to you. From the fully equipped fishing cabin for 4 persons, located right on the campsite’s lake, to the XXL mobile home for 8, perfectly integrated in a landscaped setting, with 2 bathrooms and a large laid out covered terrace. All this accommodation is modern, bright and has a microwave, American coffee machine, TV, heating, air conditioning, covered terrace and barbecue.
The glamping accommodation has 8 different categories. You can opt for a simple hiking cabin for 2 or fully equipped family lodge tents, able to accommodate up to 8 persons. Some of them are equipped with children’s bedrooms on the first floor or in mini tents specifically set aside. All these wooden and canvas lodge tents are cosy, comfortable and have a little touch of charm and exoticism which carries you away whilst on holiday. The largest and most luxurious accommodation even has a kitchen with bar, large terrace with lounge area and private Jacuzzi.
Entertainment heaven for children
On-site, every effort is made so young and old alike can have fun, starting with the swimming areas. The campsite has a heated indoor swimming pool with water slide, separate children’s pool and outdoors a splash pad. There is also a large swimming lake, offering your children a lot of space to swim, go boating or build sandcastles. In the high season, an activity team also ensures they take part in all kinds of activities: crafts, drawing, games, sports competitions...Come the evening, a theatre takes over with songs, discotheques and shows for the entire family. As your little darlings love surprises, they can discover the countryside through educational and play activities in the forest, owing to a gnome trail. Equally they could take the wheel in mini-jeeps, to get to know the grounds, riding around the complex on a dedicated trail.
If you’re fond of sports, you can alternate between beach football, beach volleyball or table tennis games. You’ll also be able to take advantage of the outdoor fitness trail on the campsite, and if you’re an ace at mountain biking, you’ll have plenty of time to cover the locality on the numerous surrounding routes. This luxury establishment is also a genuine heaven for fishermen, as it has two vast fishing lakes. The campsite even offers accommodation located right by the lake, where you can cast your fishing rod from your terrace. Feel free to bring your own equipment.
To make your stay easier, there are various services on the Papillon Country Resort campsite, such as a grocery to buy fresh bread, sweetbreads and buns, newspapers or your small black morning coffee. A further mini market, practical for your daily shop, is located at the campsite entrance. You can also delight your taste buds with Italian specialities in a bar - restaurant on the campsite. This is perfect on days when you don’t want to cook. The location offers large lounge areas to read the paper and have a drink or your breakfast. You can even request half-board during your stay, to include all breakfasts and dinners.
Broaden your horizons, at the German border
By staying on the Papillon Country Resort campsite, you’ll be able to familiarize yourself with a region well known for its magnificent countryside and lovely watercourses. Hence, the location is perfect for cycle rides over the complex network of cycle paths in the Twente region, and to go off and explore typical villages such as Denekamp or Ootmasum. The hiking routes also offer numerous possibilities, such as going around the Lutterzand and Springendal nature reserves, the latter known as "the garden of the Netherlands".
Would you like to delight your children? Indulge yourselves with a little trip to Germany, and go and visit Nordhorn Zoo around 15 kilometres from the campsite, just the other side of the border. You can go to various animal shows or even feed some of them.
Lastly if you’re keen on history, staying with Germany, go and explore the town of Bad Bentheim and its castle. There you can admire the superb view from the tower, and discover the previously existing close family ties with the Dutch royal family.
