L’Océan, a luxury campsite in Brem-sur-Mer
South of the Vendée seaside resort of Bretignolles-sur-Mer, half way between Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and Les Sables-d’Olonne, and a stone's throw away from the beach of Les Dunes de Brem-sur-Mer, the 5-star L’Océan campsite is located. A member of the Cybèle Vacances group, this open-air hotel will seduce you with the quality of its facilities and accommodation. Moreover, in this specific 2021 year, you can cancel your stay up to 48 hours before it starts, without incurring charges and without conditions applying. Furthermore, the campsite remains open through to early November, thus enabling those who wish to do so to attend the departure of the Vendée Globe round-the-world yacht race!
A campsite with direct access to the beach
In Brem-sur-Mer, the L’Océan campsite enjoys a location which could not be more fascinating. Located just a stone's throw from the town centre of this delightful Vendée seaside resort, it is also located 600 metres from the beach. Enjoying direct and secure access to the latter, via a footpath which goes through the dunes and the forest, it therefore offers holidaymakers the possibility of reaching on foot, in only a matter of minutes, the beach of Les Dunes de Brem-sur-Mer.
The “Dunes” beach turns out to be both the wildest and the most delightful of this seaside resort. With a dune ridge running alongside, it stretches for several kilometres in the direction of Bretignolles-sur-Mer, to the north, and to Olonne-sur-Mer, to the south. The massive expanse of the beach guarantees that everyone will easily find a place on the sand to lay down their towel and put up their parasol. In the high season, lifeguards keep an eye on swimming around two lifeguard stations, whilst to the north and south of the beach, an area is set aside for respectively surfing and kitesurfing.
The land on which this luxury Brem-sur-Mer campsite is established stretches over several hectares. Delightfully wooded and superbly maintained, it is made up of spacious pitches intended to accommodate campers and their tent, caravan or camper, but also has comfortable, modern and well equipped holiday hire. Redone for the beginning 2017 season, the “L'Île Océan” toilets and washrooms have benefitted from decorating which could not be more original!
One of the largest indoor and heated water parks in the Vendée!
This accommodation is divided into eight ranges of mobile homes and two unusual ranges. Comprising the Tente Maori and Tente Natura, the new out of the ordinary ranges of the L’Océan campsite thus make it possible to synthesize the comfort of modern holiday hire and the pleasures of open-air life, in a tent with an original and innovative design! A Premium area was moreover opened in 2018. The latter consists of top-end mobile homes equipped, in particular, with a private jacuzzi.
As regards services, holidaymakers have a grocery, a restaurant, which had an extension in 2018, from now on offering a more peaceful area, with a very cosy atmosphere. There is also a launderette, highly exotic bathroom installations, Wi-Fi and an electric bicycle hire service. La Table des Gabelous, the L’Océan campsite’s restaurant, offers a varied menu and dishes which can be eaten on-site, either on the terrace to take advantage of the view over the aquatic park or inside for greater comfort. For those who wish to use it, there is a takeaway service available in the restaurant. Finally, L'Océan also has a bar, having a terrace equipped with a giant screen, which always broadcasts major sporting events.
A real sensation, the aquatic park of this Brem-sur-Mer campsite which can hold its own with its competitors, whether on the Atlantic coast or the south of France. This complex indeed enjoys a multitude of facilities and extends over a total area of more than 1,000 m². All of its pools are heated to 29°C. It comprises an outdoor section, with a large swimming pool, several multi-slide water slides and a paddling pool for children, in the middle of which they can have fun playing on the replica of a pirate ship!
An optimal situation in the Vendée department
The other part of the aquatic park is completely indoor. The latter is made up of a superb tropical lagoon, with rocks and palm trees, as well as an countercurrent river, a paddling pool, a Jacuzzi, swan's neck sprays and hydrotherapy benches.
On the wellness front, since 2018 the campsite has had a sauna with free access, a hairdressing salon and a beauty salon!
During the campsite opening dates, various activities and entertainment punctuate life at the L’Océan campsite. From sports tournaments to themed dinners to concerts and shows, there is certainly something for everyone during their stay. Children are not forgotten either as during the high season no less than three mini-clubs are open. The children's club accommodates those who are 4 to 9 years old, the juniors' club those aged 10 to 13 years and the teenagers club those aged 14 to 18 years old. In 2020, for the French holiday weekend at the beginning of November (commemorating All Saints’ Day), special “Halloween” festivities were planned and an exceptional event took place: the pétanque world champions Philippe Quintais and Philippe Suchaud came.
Lastly, holidaymakers staying at this luxurious open-air hotel by the sea in the Vendée have the chance to go out and discover numerous tourist attractions in the department. Examples of the latter are the Grand Parc du Puy du Fou (a historical theme park), the Historial de la Vendée (a Vendée history museum) and the château de Gilles de Rais (now a visitor attraction including its history and children's activities). There is also the Bocage Vendéen (stunning Vendée bocage countryside), the Île d’Yeu, the Île de Noirmoutier and the Aquarium de Talmont Saint Hilaire (a fish and marine life attraction) and other places to visit.
