A family campsite in the Vendée
The L'Océan campsite is located on the magnificent Côte de Lumière, the name given to the Vendée coast, owing to the legendary amount of sunshine! Located not far from the sandy beaches of the Saint Jean de Monts seaside resort, this establishment offers holidaymakers traditional camping and caravanning pitches and mobile home holiday rentals in equal measure. All the plots are separated from the others by lush hedges, to protect everyone’s privacy!
It is up to you to choose pitches for tents, caravans, converted vans and campers, with or without an electrical connection. Pets are welcome on some of these pitches. If you choose comfort by booking your holiday in one of the L’Océan holiday rentals, be aware you can also hire sheets, towels a plancha, baby kit or fridge. TV is included in all holiday rentals and Wi-Fi is accessible for free over the entire campsite.
The campsite water park consists of an outdoor section with a large swimming pool, paddling pool for the very young and sunbathing area. Right nearby, thrill-seekers and those keen on slide descents can make the most of the two large water slides. Lastly an indoor, heated swimming pool with a play paddling pool guarantees swimming and fun in all seasons!
A convivial holiday in Saint Jean de Monts
During the April (around Easter) and summer school holidays, an activity team brimming with energy welcomes children aged 4 to 10 at the mini club and offers them craft, colouring activities, treasure hunts, sports competitions and of course the essential dancing and singing sessions with Pirouette, the Aloa Vacances’s funny mascot. L'Océan also has an inflatable play facility and play area, with a pirate ship washed up on the sand...
After a game of pétanque with friends or a wild football or basketball match on the multi-sport ground, go and have a cold drink or cocktail at the campsite bar! For your evening meal, order takeaways at the snack bar and enjoy a lovely family meal on the terrace of your accommodation or your pitch.

The Côte de Lumière, a land of nature and adventure
The Côte de Lumière coast is renowned for the hiking and cycling trails, meandering through dunes and marshes. Also here you can discover the magnificent Noirmoutier and Yeu islands, renowned for their wild beauty, protected countryside and delightful villages. Take the Passage du Gois submersible causeway or a ferry to go off to explore these two gems of the Atlantic coast.
In addition, make the most of your stay in the Vendée, for a unique experience at Puy du Fou. This theme park unique of its kind offers impressive shows, historic reconstructions, immersive productions and even shows with Vikings, Musketeers (French soldiers in the 17th and 18th centuries) or the Knights of the Round Table. Come the evening, the Cinéscénie night-time show, which has won numerous awards, recounts seven centuries of history within a poetic, magical and spectacular fresco.
Lastly you can go to the fishing port of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie to enjoy the famous local sardines, before strolling through the lively streets of the town centre. At the local market, you’ll find Vendée specialities and savour Préfou garlic bread or gâche, the iconic brioche (with fresh cream) in the region.
