Les Genêts, a 5-star campsite in the Vendée
In Saint Jean de Monts lies one of the most beautiful campsites of Vendée. Rated 5 star and a member of the Sun Marina group, the Les Genêts campsite offers tourists the perfect conditions for a successful stay on the Côte de Lumière (the Vendée coast)…
A campsite 800 metres from the sea
Located only 800 metres from the Saint Jean de Monts beach, the famous seaside resort of the Vendée coast, the town centre of which is 6 kilometres away, Les Genêts extends over 7 hectares of a delightfully in bloom and carefully maintained pine forest. This exceptional campsite features 385 pitches and some of these are today covered by mobile homes. Ideally positioned on the Côte de Lumière, the first shops are found at 700 metres and the centre of the seaside resort of Saint Hilaire de Riez is even closer than the centre of Saint Jean de Monts. The mobile homes are called cottages and chalets, depending on the surface area and the comfort level.
Ultra-modern, the timber Cabadiennes provide out-of-the-ordinary accommodation which is comfortable, peaceful and warm. These have been laid out to form a private island, where holidaymakers can make the most of shared facilities including barbecues and picnic tables. The Far West Lodges enable you to combine the delights of camping and the countryside with the charm and comfort of a holiday rental. They have a surface area of 23 m². These can accommodate between 4 to 5 people, having 2 bedrooms and a large terrace of 11 m².
Among the many shops and services of the establishment, we mention the bar/ restaurant permitting also to take away an important choice of dishes back to your rental or your pitch. At Les Genets, there's also a grocery store, as well as a Wi-Fi network covering the entire campsite.
An exceptional water park
On the Les Genets campsite, the Wild West is not only present in the Saloon and the kids club area, but also throughout its water park. The décor of the water park on this campsite, where you can swim and do fun and aqua sports activities, seems to come straight out of a western film. It features an outdoor heated pool, an artificial river, a balneo pool with hydromassaging benches, an indoor heated pool with a whirlpool and 4 water slides. Finally, a 100 m² water playground is reserved for children.
In 2019, the water park of Les Genêts expanded with a completely new indoor 1,500 m² area. This houses pools and 2 water slides, both 9 metres in height, the entirety enjoying a décor which could not be more astonishing!
Besides an outdoor playground, a multi sports ground, a jeu-de-boules court, table tennis, and tennis courts, this 5-star campsite in the Vendée offers a lot of other sports and fun facilities. A video games and billiards room advantageously completes these facilities to entertain young and old.
Note also that during the day and in the evenings, an entertainment team organizes many activities to divert the campers. From jeu-de-boules tournaments to dancing, there's something for all tastes and for all ages!
Saint Jean de Monts, a leading beach resort on the Vendée Coast
The location of the Les Genêts campsite is perfect for those who wish to spend a holiday by the sea, in the Vendée. Located South of Saint Jean de Monts, one of the most important beach resorts of the Department, this establishment is only 800 metres from a huge fine sandy beach. It just takes a few minutes for the residents to get there on foot or by bike.
Saint Jean de Monts, just like many other resorts on the Vendée Coast, boasts a strong argument to attract tourists. It is a part of the Côte de Lumière and as such enjoys a micro climate, particular for the coastline of this Department. This micro-climate guarantees one of the highest sunshine rates on the Atlantic Coast, barely lower than the regions in the South of France!
The sun and the beach are the best arguments to attract tourists to the Les Genêts campsite. However, they can also take advantage of their stay to discover the other tourist treasures of the Vendée, like the island of Noirmoutier, only a few kilometres away from the campsite. Equally there is the famous town of Les Sables d'Olonne, which every four years hosts the skippers of the Vendée Globe, a single-handed round-the-world yacht race.
A stay on the Les Genêts campsite is also the opportunity to visit the Puy du Fou, the largest theme park in Western France, whose shows on the history of the Vendée and France attract more than 1.5 million visitors every year...
