A marriage of peace and nature
The Village de la Guyonnière campsite is at the heart of a green setting, located 300 metres from the banks of Lac de Jaunay. An artificial 114-hectare lake, the Lac de Jaunay stretches over more than eight kilometres. A fishermen's paradise, it is also a nautical leisure park which is famous throughout the entire Vendée department.
Barely a dozen or so kilometres from the Bretignolles sur Mer beaches and the seaside resorts of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie and Les Sables-d’Olonne, this campsite has international clientele - there are Dutch and British holidaymakers here during the summer. It stretches over grounds of 30 hectares. Here the attractions of peace, space and tranquillity naturally distinguish it from campsites located by the sea.
The proof is very much in its spacious pitches, the average area of which exceeds 225 m²(!). Such pitches are entirely laid to lawn and often planted with trees. Intimacy is thus preserved in this 5-star Vendée campsite. Moreover, campers staying on these plots have the chance to opt for the Premium pack. This comprises, in addition to a set of garden furniture for six people, a fridge and a barbecue! Lastly, indeed the height of luxury, it is possible to reserve a dormitory during your last night on the site. Completely renovated, these dormitories allow campers to fold their tent back up and put away their camping gear on the day before departure, whilst taking their time to pack their vehicle in the optimum way for the journey home. This service makes a difference when you wish avoid the stress of a hasty and inadequately prepared departure!
Only 15 minutes from the Vendée beaches
By the water's edge or even at the very heart of the landscaped site which accommodates this campsite, holidaymakers also have the chance of hiring comfortable accommodation. The Village de la Guyonnière campsite also has a “glamping” range. This comprising lodges which are as unusual as they are varied, but also a multitude of chalets and mobile homes. Like the plots previously mentioned, space is equally important as between each on-site hire accommodation unit, thus ensuring respect for privacy.
Although all accommodation units offer comfort and space to their occupants two such units, in particular, stand out. The glamping lodges of the Zen Premium range as well as the Cottage Premium mobile homes, are nowadays amongst the best available open-air accommodation. Whilst the former can boast a private Jacuzzi, on a wooden terrace of more than 37.5 m², a raised private sunbathing area with sunbeds and an unrestricted view over the campsite, the latter have a surface area of 42 m², 3 bedrooms and can accommodate 6 to 8 people! Other Cottage Premium mobile homes, which not much smaller, can accommodate between 4 and 6 people.
The available shops and services contribute to the excellent reputation of the site. These comprise an entirely new restaurant, a snack bar serving takeaway dishes and pizzas, a bar with a warm atmosphere housed within a former stone barn and a grocery. There is also a reception, which also serves as a ticket office for the Le Puy du Fou theme park, a must-see attraction when holidaying in the Vendée, a bicycle hire service and a games room. Children wishing to may also have a pony tour of the campsite, as well as of the numerous areas occupied by farm animals on the campsite.
On the banks of the Lac de Jaunay
On the banks of the Lac de Jaunay, holidaymakers of the Village de la Guyonnière most certainly have no time to get bored, as there any number of facilities and recreational and/or sports activities. The aquatic area, entirely heated to 28°C, thus consists of a large outdoor pool, a 65-metre counter-current river and, since 2018, new water slides, as well as a children’s splash pad and an indoor pool which has been completely renovated and enlarged. This offers swimmers a larger surface area and is equipped with its own artificial river, paddling pool and water slide!
This Saint Julien des Landes outdoor establishment is also equipped a spa/wellness centre, in which there is a steam room, a sauna, a Jacuzzi and recliner chairs. Moreover, there is also a beautician-masseuse on hand, to offer you various body and facial care treatments in July and August.
Amongst the other facilities on-site, which are worthy of note, are the recently built multisports ground, the beach volleyball court, the tennis court, an area for playing boules and table tennis tables. Moreover, various activities and excursions are offered to campers; including treetop adventure, karting, paintballing, and other activities
